The Tata Power Company Limited, India’s largest vertically integrated power provider and a leader in EV charging solutions, partnered with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, the country’s largest four-wheeler EV manufacturer, to unveil Mumbai’s first premium, large-scale EV charging hub under the TATA.ev MegaCharger initiative. The launch took place on World EV Day and was jointly officiated by Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power, and Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited.

Strategically situated near Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport within The Leela Mumbai Hotel premises, the TATA.ev MegaCharger hub is designed to cater to a wide range of EV users, including private car owners, taxis, ride-hailing services, and logistics fleets. Its prime location allows it to serve business travelers, tourists, hotel guests, and commuters from the Andheri–Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)–South Mumbai corridor, making clean mobility accessible to a diverse audience.

The facility features eight fast DC chargers with charging speeds of up to 120 kW and 16 charging bays, making it one of the largest and most advanced charging stations in the city. With the capability to charge 16 EVs simultaneously, it ensures a hassle-free experience with minimal wait times even during peak hours.

Dr Praveer Sinha remarked during the inauguration “The launch of this fast-charging hub, developed in collaboration with Tata Motors, demonstrates our integrated approach to accelerating India’s transition toward green mobility. Strategically located and powered entirely by renewable energy, this facility sets a new standard for future-ready EV infrastructure. As we expand similar hubs across major cities, Tata Power remains committed to delivering clean energy solutions and promoting large-scale EV adoption nationwide.”

Shailesh Chandra commented Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited “Tata Motors has been at the forefront of India’s EV transformation—not only by providing world-class electric vehicles but also by actively supporting the development of a robust charging ecosystem. Our longstanding partnership with Tata Power has been key in incubating and expanding the EV charging infrastructure in India. The inauguration of this TATA.ev MegaCharger—the first of many such installations—is a significant step in our mission to build a fast, reliable, and widespread charging network. We look forward to further scaling this partnership and empowering EV owners across the country.”

The new hub is part of the expanding TATA.ev MegaCharger network—an initiative of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited aimed at creating a seamless and inclusive EV charging ecosystem. These charging stations are open to all EV users and offer exclusive benefits for TATA.ev customers, including discounts of up to 25% and priority access to chargers.

Charging services will be easily accessible via the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which has over 400,000 registered users, and will soon be available through the iRA.ev Connected Car app for TATA.ev customers. The launch reinforces Tata Power’s leadership in embedding sustainability into everyday life through its ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ movement. With over 5,500 public and captive EV charging points, more than 140,000 home chargers, and 1,200+ bus charging points across over 630 cities and towns—including a presence of over 1,000 chargers in Mumbai—Tata Power has built India’s most extensive EV charging network.

This network spans highways, airports, tourist destinations, malls, residential societies, and commercial zones, supporting every segment of EV users. By 2030, Tata Power aims to expand to 750,000 home chargers and 10,000 public charging points, further strengthening the foundation for a sustainable and green mobility ecosystem in India.
