Bartronics India Limited, a publicly listed company known for its work in financial inclusion and rural fintech across 5,000 villages, announced a strategic partnership with Net Zero Initiative Private Limited (“RenewCred”), a climate technology startup developing a blockchain-based carbon credit registry. The signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks Bartronics’ entry into the Climate Tech and Agri-Tech sectors as part of its growth strategy under new leadership.
With Indian agriculture forming one of the largest sectors globally, farmers are seen as key contributors to climate action. Through this partnership, Bartronics aims to create accessible pathways for farmers to participate in global carbon markets by adopting eco-friendly farming practices that enhance soil health and generate certified carbon credits. These credits can be monetized, providing an additional income source while contributing to the resilience of rural economies.
“This MoU reflects our commitment to placing farmers at the forefront of climate solutions. For years, our work has focused on improving financial access in rural India, and now we are enabling farmers to tap into carbon credit opportunities,” said N Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of Bartronics India Limited. “By collaborating with RenewCred, we aim to open global opportunities for rural communities and support their journey toward sustainable livelihoods.”
RenewCred, supported by a team of over 90 scientists, is already collaborating with government departments in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh. The company will offer advanced digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems, along with drone-based assessments and blockchain-powered tracking to ensure transparency and trust in carbon credit certification.
Commenting on the partnership, Abhimanyu Rathi, Founder & CEO of RenewCred, said, “Our mission is to make carbon markets more accessible, credible, and transparent. By working with Bartronics, we extend this mission to India’s farming communities, empowering them with sustainable income opportunities through scientifically verified carbon credits. This partnership goes beyond technology—it’s about creating equitable opportunities for rural populations to benefit from climate action.”
Bartronics, traditionally focused on promoting financial inclusion in rural India, is expanding its horizon to integrate climate-tech and agri-tech solutions. Leveraging its deep farmer network, the company intends to create global pathways for sustainability while ensuring that rural communities directly benefit from emerging opportunities. The MoU with RenewCred marks the first step in this expansion, combining Bartronics’ reach with RenewCred’s expertise.
With global carbon markets expected to be a multi-billion-dollar industry by 2030, demand for sustainable and traceable solutions is on the rise among businesses and consumers alike. Bartronics’ entry into the climate-tech space strategically positions it at the heart of this expanding market, with prospects that extend beyond India’s borders. The company confirmed that this partnership is only the beginning of its efforts to build a robust presence in the sector.
Bartronics is one of India’s leading companies in rural banking and financial inclusion. With operations in about 5,000 villages, the company serves over 40 million farmers and rural residents. Expanding into agri-tech and automation, Bartronics is committed to delivering sustainable impact and empowering rural communities through technology-driven solutions.
