GameChange Solar, a global leader in solar tracker and fixed-tilt racking technology, has secured its first solar tracker project in New Zealand with Bright Fern Energy’s Dannevirke Solar Farm. The 23 MWp utility-scale development represents a significant milestone for GameChange Solar, marking its entry into the New Zealand market and strengthening its footprint across Oceania. Bright Fern Energy will serve as a cornerstone customer for the company in the region.
The Dannevirke Solar Farm will utilize GameChangeSolar’s Genius Tracker™ 1P system, featuring a four-string configuration and integrated SpeedClamp™ technology, designed to accelerate installation and lower costs. This marks the first use of SpeedClamp™ in New Zealand. The system is also equipped with HailStow™ functionality, which automatically adjusts solar modules to safer angles during hailstorms, mitigating potential damage and helping reduce insurance risks. Early engineering collaboration, including a detailed cut-and-fill site assessment, played a key role in optimizing design and reducing overall project costs.

Located near the town of Dannevirke, the solar farm is scheduled for commissioning by March 2026. It is the first of three fully consented projects that Bright Fern Energy plans to advance into construction over the next 18 months.
