HCLTech, a global technology company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Thought Machine, a leader in cloud-native banking solutions, to accelerate the digital transformation of banks worldwide. The collaboration is aimed at helping financial institutions move beyond legacy systems and adopt AI- and cloud-led operating models.

At the core of this initiative is Thought Machine’s Vault platform, an advanced core banking and payments technology designed to replace outdated infrastructure with a modern, cloud-native foundation. By adopting Vault, banks will be able to automate critical operations, improve efficiency, and deliver personalized customer experiences at scale.

HCLTech will complement this with its expertise in banking technology, regulatory compliance, and large-scale integrations, enabling faster innovation and quicker product launches. The company will also deploy Vault-certified delivery teams and leverage its global fintech Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and DevSecOps capabilities to support end-to-end transformation. A dedicated global CoE for Vault Core and Vault Payments will be established to provide modular, real-time, and scalable solutions for the financial services sector.

The combined offering is designed to support both established banks and emerging digital challengers, enabling them to build agile, resilient, and future-ready ecosystems. “Our global partnership with HCLTech marks a significant step in helping banks move away from legacy constraints and embrace fully digital-first models,” said Randy McFarlane, Global Head of Partnerships, Thought Machine. “Together, we will deliver intelligent, adaptive systems that evolve with customer needs.”

“This collaboration represents our commitment to shaping the future of autonomous banking through cloud, data, and AI,” said Sudip Lahiri, Executive Vice President and Head—Europe & UKI, Financial Services, HCLTech. “By combining our strengths with Thought Machine, we will accelerate the journey for banks towards smarter, more agile financial ecosystems.”
