Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to enhance the infrastructure of Zilla Parishad Kendriya Prathamik School (ZPKPS) in Bidkin, located in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district. The MoU was formally exchanged at the Collector’s office, with key figures such as Deelip Swami, Collector & District Magistrate, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Ankit, CEO of Zilla Parishad, and senior officials from the Education Department in attendance. TKM was represented by Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Senior Vice President, and Head of State Affairs, along with other senior company leaders.
This initiative is part of TKM’s expanding presence in Maharashtra, complementing its recent plans to set up a new greenfield manufacturing plant in the state, which will promote industrial growth and create jobs. For Toyota, education is a cornerstone of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, built on the belief that learning is essential to long-term societal development. In a diverse country like India, where access to quality education can drive social, economic, and intellectual progress, TKM aligns its education initiatives with national programs such as Skill India and the National Education Policy.
TKM’s approach focuses on early childhood care, foundational literacy, school infrastructure, and access to learning resources. Through this strategy, TKM addresses educational challenges and creates sustainable learning environments. Toyota’s “child-to-community” model recognizes that investing in children’s education not only empowers individuals but also drives societal transformation, benefiting families and communities at large. This reflects Toyota’s philosophy of “Samuday Vikas,” which emphasizes holistic community development.
ZPKPS Bidkin is a century-old school that serves children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. With more than 800 students currently enrolled and projections to accommodate up to 1,200 in the near future, the school urgently requires infrastructure upgrades to keep pace with growing demand and ensure an effective learning environment. The infrastructure improvement plan will be executed in phases over three years, from 2025 to 2028, with the goal of transforming the school into a modern, inclusive, and future-ready educational facility.
Shri Swami, Collector & District Magistrate of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar Motor will significantly improve the infrastructure of ZPKPS Bidkin, a key institution for children from underserved communities. With the school’s enrolment expected to increase, this initiative is timely and will improve the learning experience for all students. Strengthening public education through such collaborations is vital for inclusive development, and we thank Toyota for their proactive role in this endeavor.”
Speaking at the MoU signing, Mr Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer at TKM, said, “Our commitment to nation-building goes beyond just providing mobility solutions. We firmly believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for sustainable and inclusive development. By enhancing the learning environment for nearly 1,200 students, we are investing in the future of our next generation. This partnership exemplifies our collaboration with government stakeholders to make a tangible impact on the community. As we move forward, this initiative embodies our core philosophy of ‘Creating Mobility for All,’ which can uplift entire communities and improve lives.”
Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s CSR initiatives are deeply rooted in fostering sustainable growth and empowering communities. As of FY 2024–25, TKM has impacted over 4.24 million lives through its interventions across six key areas: Education, Health & Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety, and Disaster Management.
The company’s efforts are aligned with global frameworks like the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national programs such as Viksit Bharat 2047, Skill India, and Swachh Bharat. Through continuous collaboration with government bodies, non-profits, and academic institutions, TKM is committed to enhancing India’s progress, while staying aligned with Toyota’s global mission of “Creating Mobility for All.”
