Evolve Energy, a prominent solar energy solutions provider, has won the contract to develop a 1.5 MW AC ground-mounted solar power plant for Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. This project further strengthens Evolve Energy’s presence in delivering renewable energy solutions to major public sector enterprises.
Awarded under a CAPEX model, the project will be executed on MCL’s premises in Odisha with a targeted commissioning date of November 2026. The initiative represents a strategic step toward integrating clean energy into industrial operations within the coal and mining sector.

Under the contract, Evolve Energy will handle the complete Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scope, which includes site surveys, system design, material sourcing, installation, and commissioning. The company will also manage operations and maintenance to ensure long-term efficiency and performance.
Once operational, the solar plant is expected to produce a significant amount of clean electricity annually, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and aligning with Coal India’s decarbonization roadmap.
