Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has announced the appointment of Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. Her appointment is for a five-year term and marks a significant leadership transition at one of India’s largest consumer goods companies.

Ms Nair, currently serving as President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, will succeed Rohit Jawa, who is stepping down from the role on July 31, 2025. According to the company, Mr Jawa will move on to explore new opportunities in his professional and personal life.

Alongside her new role, Ms Nair will join the HUL Board—pending regulatory approvals—and will continue to be part of Unilever’s global leadership team. “Priya brings a wealth of experience and deep market insight. Her strong leadership will help drive HUL’s continued growth and innovation,” said HUL Chairman Nitin Paranjpe.

Having joined HUL in 1995, Ms Nair has held various key roles across the company’s home care, personal care, and beauty segments. She previously served as Executive Director of Home Care (2014–2020) and later led the Beauty & Personal Care business between 2020 and 2022. Her global career took her to the role of Global Chief Marketing Officer for Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing division, and since 2023, she has headed the segment as President.

Rohit Jawa, who took the helm at HUL in 2023, led the company through complex market dynamics. During his two-year tenure, HUL delivered steady, volume-driven growth despite external challenges. “Rohit’s time at HUL was marked by strategic clarity and a sharper portfolio focus,” said Mr Paranjpe. “We thank him for his leadership and the strong position in which he leaves the company.”
