Dover India, part of the global Dover Corporation, has teamed up with RV College of Engineering (RVCE) in Bengaluru to set up a cutting-edge laboratory focused on hydrogen research and development. This new facility, located within RVCE’s Centre for Hydrogen and Green Technology, aims to be a hub for pioneering work on hydrogen technologies and material reliability in extreme conditions.
The partnership will not only advance hydrogen research but also explore emerging fields such as sustainable materials, IoT, and Industry 4.0. With state-of-the-art infrastructure jointly created by Dover India Innovation Center (DIIC) and RVCE, the lab will be one of its kind in India, offering world-class research facilities that are currently available in only a few countries globally.
Over 20 technologists from both organizations will work together to develop technologies for hydrogen generation, storage, transportation, safety, and applications. Additionally, the CoE will provide hands-on training for RVCE students, equipping them with valuable skills in clean energy technology.
Since its establishment in 2021, Dover India’s R&D division in Jigani, Bengaluru, has positioned itself as a leader in advancing technologies in areas such as corrosion, tribology, coatings, polymer synthesis, and material characterization. This new laboratory further strengthens DIIC’s platform-based approach, which helps accelerate research and technology development across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on clean energy.
“Our collaboration with RVCE is pivotal in building a strong academia-industry relationship that will drive forward the next phase of clean energy research, encompassing both fundamental and applied research,” said Vivek Srivastava, R&D Head at Dover India, who is spearheading the initiative.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the laboratory was signed by key representatives from both organizations. Tushar Banerjee, Vice President & Managing Director, and Prashanth Santhanam, Senior Director – Finance, represented Dover India, while RVCE’s leadership included Dr MP Shyam, President of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Dr KN Subramanya, Principal of RV College of Engineering, Dr Geetha KS, Vice Principal, and Dr Ujwal Shreenag Meda, Coordinator of the Centre for Hydrogen and Green Technology. This partnership reflects their shared vision to foster innovation, develop scalable solutions, and position India at the forefront of the global hydrogen economy.
