Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Ltd (WIML), a prominent player in India’s electric vehicle (EV) market under the brands ‘Joy e-bike’ and ‘Joy e-rik,’ has signed a strategic partnership with XiCon International Ltd, a Mumbai-based engineering and manufacturing firm and a subsidiary of Kaiser Corporation. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will see XiCon lease 7,500 electric scooters from Wardwizard to enhance last-mile delivery solutions, marking XiCon’s entry into the electric mobility space and expanding its footprint across power, telecom, and infrastructure sectors.
As part of the agreement, XiCon will lease the Wolf+ electric scooter model for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 financial years. The deployment will begin in key metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Pune, with plans to scale to other regions as the operations grow. The MoU outlines a comprehensive plan for the deployment, operation, and maintenance of the electric scooters, with a focus on improving delivery efficiency and promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions. The initiative aims to integrate smart, sustainable, and cost-effective mobility options within XiCon’s expanding urban logistics operations, particularly for last-mile delivery.
Under the terms of the agreement, Wardwizard will lease the scooters to XiCon and ensure their operational reliability through uptime assurance. Additionally, Wardwizard will establish service and charging stations, manage spare parts, batteries, and provide technical support for the vehicles.
Yatin Gupte, Chairman & Managing Director of Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Ltd, commented, “Our partnership with XiCon International marks an important milestone in accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India. Through this collaboration, we are not only advancing last-mile connectivity but also contributing to India’s vision of sustainable urban mobility. The Wolf+ scooters are ideal for navigating urban streets, providing an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for last-mile delivery. We are excited to roll out the scooters and look forward to growing this partnership in the future.”
On the operational front, XiCon will oversee vehicle allocation, partner with third-party delivery services, and manage app development and marketing initiatives to ensure optimal utilization. Both companies will jointly handle rider training, and all service centers and stores will be co-branded. Wardwizard will also provide demo units for promotional activities and manage all claims related to the leased scooters. This collaboration reflects Wardwizard’s ongoing commitment to creating a robust electric mobility ecosystem in India and providing clean, efficient, and scalable EV solutions nationwide.
