CJ Logistics Corporation, South Korea’s largest logistics company, has increased its equity stake in CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd from 50% to 56% through an investment of USD 32 million. This transaction, comprising both primary and secondary components, reinforces the company’s long-term strategic commitment to the Indian logistics sector. The additional capital will support CJ Darcl’s efforts to expand its presence across India and scale operations in multimodal infrastructure, including terminals, modern warehousing, digital supply chain systems, and alternative fuel platforms.

CJ Logistics first entered into a strategic partnership with DARCL Logistics Ltd in 2017, acquiring a 50% stake in the company, which was later rebranded as CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd. The remaining 44% continues to be held by the founding Darcl promoters and their affiliates, ensuring continuity and alignment in the company’s strategic direction. The infusion of funds marks a significant step in the ongoing collaboration, intended to build a future-ready logistics platform combining Indian market depth with global operational standards.

KK Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd, stated, “This investment reflects CJ Logistics Corporation’s confidence in our vision and performance. It highlights the trust we have built over the years and reinforces our shared goal of transforming India’s logistics sector. The capital infusion will help us expand our integrated services, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and foster sustainable growth. We are committed to building a future-ready logistics enterprise that combines the depth of the Indian market with global excellence.”

Gwon Woong Kim, Head of APAC Headquarters at CJ Logistics Corporation, commented, “India is on the brink of a major transformation in its logistics industry, and it remains a key element in CJ Logistics’ global strategy. Just as we saw the shift from unorganised to organised infrastructure in the Korean market during the 1990s, we believe India is set for similar growth. Through deeper collaboration with CJ Darcl, we are focused on driving innovation and providing high-efficiency logistics solutions that support the country’s evolving supply chain ecosystem.”

CJ Darcl today operates with a nationwide footprint of nearly 200 branches, serving over 2,000 clients across various sectors, and employing a workforce of more than 5,000 professionals. The company delivers comprehensive logistics solutions through a blend of owned assets and technology-driven processes. Its fleet includes over 1,600 owned vehicles and more than 2,500 containers, supporting operations across road, rail, air, and coastal shipping. The increased stake by CJ Logistics comes amid rising investor interest in India’s logistics space, backed by government infrastructure initiatives, policy reforms, and momentum around digital and sustainable transport systems.
