TATA.ev the largest manufacturer of electric vehicles in India, has inaugurated its first 10 high-speed charging stations in collaboration with ChargeZone and Statiq. This marks a significant step towards expanding the country’s electric mobility infrastructure. The launch comes shortly after TATA.ev’s commitment to increase the number of charging points to 400,000 by 2027, aiming to boost e-mobility across India.

By leveraging an “Open Collaboration” framework, TATA.ev has formed partnerships with various Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). These collaborations have expanded charging networks, particularly along highways, to ensure smooth long-distance travel for electric vehicle (EV) users. One of the key components of this expansion is the creation of the TATA.evMegaCharger network, which offers ultra-fast and highly reliable charging services.

Commenting on the initiative, Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, said, “With EV adoption on the rise, the demand for reliable and widespread charging infrastructure is critical. These first 10 MegaCharger stations are the initial phase of a superfast charging network that will connect major cities across India and eliminate any concerns regarding charging availability.”

TATA.ev’s new MegaChargers are strategically located across high-traffic highways and urban centers in India to meet the increasing demand for fast, reliable EV charging. The chargers are placed in areas with high EV density and offer a range of services to ensure a hassle-free charging experience. TATA.ev plans to install 500 MegaChargers across the country, with the first 10 installations now live.

TATA.ev has significantly expanded its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with the installation of MegaChargers across major highways and urban centers, ensuring seamless and efficient travel for EV users. On the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway, three MegaChargers have been established in collaboration with ChargeZone. These include stations at Shreenath Food Hub in Vadodara, Shanti Complex in Vapi, and Hotel Xpress Inn at Ghodbunder. Strategically located 150–200 km apart, these chargers support high-speed charging of up to 400 kW (in Vadodara) and offer premium amenities such as dining facilities and restrooms to enhance the driver experience.

Along the Delhi–Jaipur Highway, four MegaChargers have been installed in partnership with Statiq to support regular intercity travel. Positioned at SS Plaza in Gurugram, Hotel Old Rao in Kaprivas, AsliPappuDhaba in Hamzapur, and Hotel Highway King in Shahpura, these chargers are spaced at 60 km intervals. They provide 120 kW charging capabilities and are located at well-known food and rest stops, making them ideal for convenient and comfortable travel breaks.

On the Pune–Nashik route, TATA.ev has established a MegaCharger at AkashMisal House in Rajgurunagar. This station offers 120 kW fast charging and serves as a crucial link for EV users commuting between Pune and Nashik. The location is strategically placed to provide a reliable mid-way charging point, supporting longer journeys with reduced charging downtime.

Within Bengaluru city, a MegaCharger has been installed at Monk Mansion in Electronic City. This site addresses the growing demand for urban charging infrastructure, especially in high-traffic areas. The charger provides fast, dependable service to city commuters, with access to nearby facilities and essential conveniences.

In Udaipur, a new MegaCharger has been introduced at Ramee Royal Resort. Designed to cater to both residents and tourists, this 120 kW charger includes four dedicated EV parking bays and is equipped with comprehensive amenities. Its presence enhances EV accessibility in the region while supporting sustainable tourism and local mobility.

Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, stated, “Our partnership with TATA.ev is a major milestone in creating a nationwide network of trusted EV chargers. This collaboration will make EV adoption easier and more reliable for Indian users.”

Kartikey Hariyani, CEO & MD of ChargeZone, commented, “We are excited to unveil our first co-branded SuperCharging station with TATA.ev on NH48. By focusing on fast and accessible solutions, we are pushing the boundaries of EV charging and building a seamless ecosystem for India’s future mobility needs.”
