CleanMax, a leading renewable energy solutions provider for the commercial and industrial sector in India, has received the Excellence in Sustainability award at Cisco’s Global Supplier Day held in San Jose, California. This recognition highlights CleanMax’s significant role in helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions through innovative energy solutions, including a recently commissioned 92.1 MW hybrid renewable energy project developed in partnership with Cisco.

Backed by Brookfield, CleanMax has been working with Cisco since 2017 to implement clean energy solutions tailored to the tech giant’s sustainability goals. A key outcome of this collaboration is the launch of a cutting-edge hybrid wind-solar project located in Jagaluru, Karnataka. This installation now powers Cisco’s India campus—its second-largest globally—with clean, reliable energy.

Currently, Cisco’s campus is supported by around 120 MW of renewable energy from CleanMax. This includes the 92.1 MW capacity commissioned recently and 28.7 MWp already in operation since March 2018. The hybrid system is expected to generate approximately 181.4 million units of electricity annually, helping to avoid around 129,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions each year—comparable to the environmental benefit of planting nearly two million trees.

The hybrid setup, which integrates 69 MWp of solar power with 23.1 MW of wind energy, meets over 90% of the electricity needs of Cisco’s Karnataka operations. The project is designed to improve energy reliability while significantly lowering Cisco’s carbon footprint—supporting its target to achieve net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2040.

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax, expressed his pride in the collaboration:
“This recognition from Cisco is a testament to the shared vision we’ve pursued together over the years. CleanMax is committed to delivering long-term clean energy solutions that empower businesses to meet their decarbonisation goals. Our partnership with Cisco reflects the high standards and commitment both companies have toward a sustainable future.”

Mary de Wysocki, Chief Sustainability Officer at Cisco, added:
“Cisco is committed to powering an inclusive and sustainable future. CleanMax has been instrumental in helping us deliver on that promise by expanding access to renewable energy and reducing emissions. This award celebrates their continued dedication and impact.”
