Mahindra Tractors, part of the Mahindra Group and the world’s top tractor maker by volume, has launched ‘Ashwamedh’ — a nationwide journey celebrating four decades of leading India’s tractor market and standing by the country’s farmers. The journey began at Mahindra’s main manufacturing facility in Nagpur, where six specially prepared tractors set out on a 45-day cross-country route. These tractors will travel across India, stopping at over 500 Mahindra outlets and connecting directly with hundreds of thousands of farmers — the core of Mahindra’s story in rural India.

As the tractors move through key regions and landmarks, the journey will spotlight India’s farming traditions, cultural heritage, and the strong relationship Mahindra shares with the agricultural community. This road trip stands as a tribute to the loyalty and trust placed in Mahindra by farmers over the past 40 years.

Sharing his thoughts, Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra’s Farm Equipment division, said, “‘Rag Rag Laal Hai’ isn’t just a message — it reflects the soul of Mahindra. It’s about the people behind our progress: the farmers, our partners, employees, and their families. The red color on our tractors represents more than just our identity — it stands for strength, passion, and leadership rooted in purpose.”

To add to the excitement, Mahindra also held celebrations at its dealerships across the country, involving both staff and their families. These gatherings recognized the dedication of Mahindra’s workforce and partners who have been vital in shaping the company’s journey. Through ‘Rag Rag Laal Hai’, Mahindra Tractors honors its legacy while continuing its mission to support farmers and push forward with fresh ideas and lasting impact in the agricultural space.

Mahindra Tractors are built to perform reliably in a wide range of farming and non-farming conditions. Designed and manufactured in India, they are known for their durability, robust engineering, and ability to operate efficiently across tough terrains. Equipped with advanced engine, powertrain, and component technologies, Mahindra Tractors deliver strong performance and operator comfort.

The product range is backed by rigorous research, development, and testing at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. Production takes place across five manufacturing facilities located in Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad (Telangana), Jaipur, and Rudrapur (Uttarakhand). Together, these facilities have contributed to Mahindra reaching the milestone of 4 million tractors manufactured. Each plant follows high standards of quality, adheres to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices, and incorporates sustainable manufacturing processes.

Mahindra also maintains a global footprint with manufacturing and assembly operations in North America, Brazil, Mexico, Finland, Turkey, and Japan through its subsidiaries. In addition to tractors, Mahindra offers a range of farm machinery—both tractor-driven and self-propelled—through partnerships and acquisitions involving global agricultural equipment brands and agri-tech startups.

Established in 1945, the Mahindra Group is a diversified multinational organization with 260,000 employees across more than 100 countries. In India, it holds leading positions in sectors such as farm equipment, utility vehicles, IT services, and financial solutions. Globally, it is the largest tractor manufacturer by volume.

The Group also has a strong presence in renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality, and real estate. Committed to ESG leadership, Mahindra focuses on promoting rural development and urban progress, with a mission to create positive and lasting impact for communities and stakeholders.
