Emmvee, a key player in the solar manufacturing industry, has officially opened its latest production facility in Sulibele, located near the Bengaluru International Airport in Karnataka. This expansion adds 2 gigawatt peak (GWp) to the company’s solar module manufacturing capacity, bringing its total output to approximately 6.6 GWp in photovoltaic (PV) modules and 2.5 GWp in solar cells.
Commenting on the launch, D.V. Manjunatha, Chairman and Managing Director of Emmvee, said, “The new plant spans nearly 400,000 square feet and will house over 500 new employees, including core engineers, senior leadership, operations teams, and administrative staff.”
With a current workforce of more than 2,000, the addition of new personnel is expected to further strengthen the company’s capabilities.
SuhasDonthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, noted, “This facility not only boosts our production capacity but also enhances our technological edge and operational capabilities. Equipped with advanced automation and multi-level quality control, the unit is designed to manufacture a range of module sizes and configurations to meet diverse market demands.”
The inauguration follows Emmvee’s earlier announcement of a ₹15,000 crore investment in Karnataka, to be executed in phases. In the first phase, ₹5,000 crore will be allocated to develop a facility with a 5 GW power generation capacity, expected to generate employment for 10,000 people. Emmvee has requested 120 acres of land within the Bengaluru IT Investment Region (ITIR) for the project, which is currently under review by the state government.
This latest expansion marks another milestone in Emmvee’s ongoing commitment to scaling domestic solar manufacturing and supporting India’s clean energy goals. Emmvee is a leading solar energy solutions provider based in India, known for its expertise in manufacturing high-quality photovoltaic (PV) modules and offering integrated solar solutions.
Established in 1992, the company has grown to become one of the key players in the renewable energy sector, with a strong presence in both domestic and international markets. Emmvee operates advanced manufacturing facilities, including its newly inaugurated plant near Bengaluru, which has expanded its total solar module production capacity to 6.6 GWp.
