ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division has secured a long-term agreement to supply several thousand units of its AxTrax 2 electric axle to a leading Indian vehicle manufacturer. The axles will be deployed in a new fleet of intercity electric buses, reinforcing ZF’s position in India’s fast-evolving commercial vehicle electrification space.

Dr. Laier added that ZF’s integrated approach—drawing from its expertise across powertrains and electric drive systems—enables the company to offer dependable products that help lower long-term operating costs for commercial fleets.
The AxTrax 2 is part of ZF’s modular electric mobility platform and is engineered to replace traditional powertrain components in commercial vehicles. The unit combines motor, transmission, and axle functions into a single compact and lightweight system, delivering up to 210 kW of continuous power.
