VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has launched a new manufacturing facility dedicated to its Eicher Pro X range of small trucks at the company’s Bhopal plant, marking the beginning of customer deliveries. The plant features an all-women final assembly line and was officially opened on February 13 by Martin Lundstedt, CEO of Volvo Group, and Siddhartha Lal, Chairman of Eicher Motors.
The first batch of Eicher Pro X trucks was handed over to logistics companies following the product’s introduction at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Designed specifically for last-mile logistics, the Pro X trucks offer improved energy efficiency and enhanced loading capacity, making them ideal for the growing logistics market.
During the inauguration, Martin Lundstedt praised India’s progress in sustainable logistics and public transport. Siddhartha Lal emphasized the electric-first nature of the Pro X launch, showcasing Eicher’s commitment to modernizing the commercial vehicle industry. VECV Chairperson Sofia Frändberg highlighted the company’s dedication to innovation in manufacturing and fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace.
VECV Managing Director Vinod Aggarwal expressed that the development of the Pro X range was guided by customer feedback, aiming to meet the needs of contemporary logistics operations. VECV, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has a strong presence in India’s commercial vehicle market, particularly in the light and medium-duty truck sectors. The new facility is part of VECV’s Industry 4.0-compliant Bhopal complex, reflecting the company’s focus on sustainable and efficient solutions for the future.
