Hammond Manufacturing has expanded its 1550Z series of rugged die-cast enclosures with the introduction of the IP68-rated 1550ZF range. This new series features flanged versions of all 18 sizes, designed for secure mounting on surfaces. The flanges are spot-welded to the base, ensuring a strong and smooth attachment point.
The enclosures come in sizes ranging from 50mm x 45mm x 30mm to 223mm x 147mm x 83mm, with lid thicknesses varying from 5mm to 33mm, depending on the model. A tongue-and-groove structure, combined with a pre-formed one-piece silicone gasket, provides IP68-level protection, making the enclosures suitable for use in environments exposed to dust and water.
The enclosures are UL and cUL certified, tested to IP66, IP67, and IP68 standards, and meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13 specifications. All but the smallest size are rated IK08 under IEC 62262, capable of withstanding impacts equivalent to a 1.7kg weight dropped from 300mm.
The lids are attached to the base using two, four, or six stainless steel Philips screws, depending on the size. These screws are located outside the gasketed area, allowing frequent access without compromising environmental protection. The enclosures are available in a natural finish or with a durable polyester black powder coating on both the interior and exterior, with unpainted areas around grounding points.
