FedEx, the leading express transportation company, has launched five new flights to strengthen South India’s connectivity with global markets. This strategic expansion facilitates faster imports from the Asia-Pacific region and boosts exports to Europe and the USA, positioning South India as a pivotal player in international trade. By optimizing supply chains and meeting growing customer demands, FedEx underscores its commitment to empowering businesses in the region and unlocking India’s global trade potential.
“India represents one of the most dynamic and promising economic growth stories globally,” said Richard W. Smith, Chief Operating Officer, International, and CEO of FedEx Airline. “We are proud to deepen our commitment to India by connecting South Indian businesses to global markets, enabling them to thrive on an international scale.”
Kami Viswanathan, President of FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa, added, “South India is a hub for industries like electronics, automotive, and healthcare. This new service caters to the region’s rising demand for faster, time-sensitive logistics and supports its role as a global manufacturing and export leader.”
The newly introduced flight service directly links Guangzhou to Bengaluru, reducing transit times by one business day. Bengaluru operations now feature 22 weekly flights, offering businesses quicker access to critical imports such as lithium-ion batteries and automotive components. The increased export capacity enables industries in healthcare, engineering, and e-commerce to meet international demand efficiently.
The company continues to invest in advanced digital tools like the FedEx Import Tool and FedEx Delivery Manager, streamlining processes and improving customer experiences. Coupled with infrastructure developments such as the expansion of the Delhi Gateway Hub, these enhancements position FedEx as a key enabler of India’s ambitions to lead in global manufacturing and trade.
FedEx remains committed to shaping the future of global logistics by connecting businesses to opportunities worldwide. As a global leader in express transportation, it delivers to over 220 countries and territories with a seamless air-and-ground network, ensuring timely delivery of critical shipments across the globe.
