Teledyne FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of Teledyne has launched the Forge® 1GigE SWIR (Short Wave Infrared) 1.3 MP camera series. The first model in this new series is equipped with Sony® SenSWIR™ 1.3 MP IMX990 InGaAs sensor, which offers wide-band and high-sensitivity imaging. This advanced sensor can capture images in both visible and SWIR light spectrums, spanning from 400nm to 1700nm with 5μm pixels.
This extended spectral range enhances the detection of anomalies and material analysis, making it ideal for a variety of applications including industrial semiconductor inspection, food and beverage quality control, recycling, security surveillance, environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, and more.
“We’re excited to launch the Forge SWIR camera series, which extends our imaging portfolio from visible light to SWIR wavelengths,” said Sadiq Panjwani, General Manager at Teledyne IIS. “This series builds on Teledyne’s expertise in SWIR line scan technology to enhance a wide range of 2D area scan applications, from industrial inspection to environmental monitoring and recycling.”
The new camera features a compact design of 40mm x 40mm x 43mm, offering high image quality in a small form factor. The Forge 1GigE SWIR camera includes advanced features like Pixel Correction, Sequencer with Region of Interest (ROI), Logic Block, and Counter, which provide precise and reliable control for various complex applications.
Teledyne FLIR IIS cameras are supported by the company’s software development kits (SDK) Spinnaker® 4 and Sapera™ Processing, as well as the Trigger-to-Image Reliability (T2IR) framework. T2IR integrates hardware and software functions at a system level to enhance the reliability and accuracy of inspection systems.
