Arvind Ltd, is expanding its advanced materials division with innovative textile applications in defence, aerospace, and infrastructure sectors.

In FY24, all units under the advanced material segment were consolidated into a separate entity, Advanced Material Ltd, to enhance focus and drive growth. Chairman Sanjay Lalbhai highlighted plans for diversifying product offerings, expanding capacities, exploring new markets, and targeting new customer segments for organic and inorganic growth.

Investments in the advanced materials business are expected to deliver double-digit revenue growth. In FY25, the company plans to invest ₹400-500 crore to increase capacities in advanced materials, garments, and modernize its fabric base. The advanced materials segment, contributing over 18% to revenue, saw a growth of more than 14% last fiscal year.

Arvind Ltd reported a net profit of ₹336 crore on revenue of ₹7,738 crore in FY24, with the textile segment showing a decline while advanced materials grew significantly. The company focuses on human protection fabrics, industrial products, advanced composites, and automotive fabrics in this segment.

Looking ahead, Arvind Ltd remains optimistic about medium-term growth despite near-term uncertainties in the textile industry. They anticipate the traditional textile business aligning with India’s GDP growth, while the advanced materials division is poised for annual growth exceeding 20%.

The company expects varied demand in textile markets, with improvements in domestic markets and cautious growth in the US, Europe, and the UK. Prospects could brighten further with potential free trade agreements involving India.
