Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Thursday that its Hydrocarbon vertical, L&T Energy, has secured a large order from the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the Daman Upside Development Project-Wellhead Platforms & Pipelines (DUDP-WP) off India’s west coast.
The project scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of four wellhead platforms, a 140-km pipeline, and associated topside modifications at the Tapti Daman block in a Western offshore location. This extensive undertaking reinforces L&T’s capabilities in executing complex offshore projects.
Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director & President (Energy) at L&T, commented on the order, stating, “This order demonstrates ONGC’s confidence in L&T, forged through the execution of multiple complex offshore projects. It also reinforces L&T’s commitment to contributing towards India’s energy security.”
The value of this significant order is estimated to be between Rs 2500 crore and Rs 5000 crore. According to L&T’s classification, significant orders fall between Rs 1000 crore and Rs 2500 crore, large orders range from Rs 2500 crore to Rs 5000 crore, major orders are valued between Rs 5000 crore and Rs 7000 crore, and mega orders exceed Rs 7000 crore.
