Avaada Electro Limited, the solar manufacturing arm of Avaada Group, has secured enlistment for 7,117 MW (7.117 GW) of N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II. The capacity has been included in the 13th revision of the list, dated October 28, 2026, and relates to the company’s manufacturing facility at Butibori in Maharashtra.
The enlistment covers the facility’s advanced G12 N-type TOPCon solar cell technology. According to manufacturer-declared specifications, the cells have a maximum efficiency of up to 26.8%, while the highest listed average cell efficiency is 25.89%. The G12 full-cell model has a declared maximum power output of 11.81 watts per cell.
TOPCon technology is used to improve the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Higher cell efficiency enables greater power generation from a given area of silicon and supports the production of higher-output solar modules. These improvements are important for solar manufacturers and project developers seeking to optimise land use, materials and installation costs.
The 7.117 GW annual nameplate capacity adds to India’s domestic solar manufacturing base at a time when the country is expanding its renewable energy capacity and seeking to strengthen local supply chains. The Butibori facility will serve the requirements of module manufacturers, renewable energy developers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies.
Actual production and saleable output from the facility will depend on operating utilisation, manufacturing yields and product mix. The ALMM enlistment provides recognition of the listed manufacturing capacity and models under the applicable MNRE framework.
Avaada Electro said its manufacturing strategy focuses on improving cell efficiency, production yields, product reliability and manufacturing productivity. The company follows three operating principles: “First Time Right”, aimed at building quality into production processes; “Every Time Right”, focused on consistency; and “Everything Right”, covering product performance, operational standards and customer requirements.
Commenting on the development, Vineet Mittal, Chairman and Whole-time Director, Avaada Electro Limited, said, “India’s clean energy future cannot depend only on how much solar power we install. It must also depend on how much technology we develop, how much we manufacture ourselves, and how effectively we compete with the world. Our 7.1 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing enlistment is an important milestone in that journey.” He added that the company’s focus would remain on product quality, efficiency improvements and consistent manufacturing performance, with the aim of serving customers in India and competing in international markets.
The development supports India’s efforts to expand domestic manufacturing, strengthen energy security and reduce dependence on imported solar components. Avaada Electro plans to build its manufacturing operations around advanced technology, production efficiency and product reliability.
