Paradeep Parivahan Limited (PPL) has secured a 10-year contract with the JSW Group to deploy and operate 100 electric trucks for bulk transportation between Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh and Vijayanagar in Karnataka. The trucks will operate on an approximately 330-km one-way corridor, carrying clinker and slag with an estimated cargo volume of 1.25 lakh metric tonnes per month. JSW Greentech Limited will supply the electric vehicles.

The contract expands PPL’s industrial transportation operations and supports its plans to develop an integrated logistics business with a growing focus on electric mobility. The company expects its total transportation fleet to increase approximately threefold compared with the previous year, taking into account this and other orders.

The proposed electric-truck deployment is estimated to have the potential to displace approximately 47.5 lakh litres of diesel and avoid 14,256 tonnes of direct carbon dioxide emissions annually. Actual fuel savings and emissions reductions will depend on vehicle utilisation, operating conditions and the assumptions used in the estimates.

Dr Khalid Khan, Managing Director and CEO of Paradeep Parivahan Limited, said the contract marked an important stage in the company’s growth and reflected its plans to build a scalable and sustainable logistics business.

He said green mobility was a strategic part of PPL’s long-term plans, alongside fleet expansion, stronger operating capabilities and technology-led solutions for industrial customers. He added that the company would focus on execution, efficient asset utilisation and long-term customer relationships as it expands its transportation operations.

The 10-year engagement is expected to strengthen PPL’s capabilities in electric fleet operations, bulk cargo transportation and logistics management. It also gives the company an opportunity to develop experience in operating heavy-duty electric trucks on an inter-state industrial corridor. PPL aims to expand its fleet and multimodal logistics capabilities while integrating electric vehicles into industrial supply chains. Its strategy includes developing transportation services suited to the requirements of India’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Founded in 2000 and headquartered at Paradip Port in Odisha, Paradeep Parivahan Limited provides integrated logistics, supply chain solutions and port services. Its operations include cargo handling, port operations, intra-port transportation and multimodal logistics.

The company is listed on the BSE SME platform under scrip code 544383 and symbol PPARIVAH. In May 2026, it received the LEAPS Award 2025 from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
