Schubert & Salzer Control Systems has expanded its low-flow valve portfolio with three new variants designed for electric, manual and high-temperature applications. The additions extend the company’s existing range, which includes the pneumatically actuated Type 7042 with an integrated positioner.
The expanded portfolio now includes two electrically actuated models, the Type 7242 and Type 7342, along with the manually actuated Type 7045. Together with the Type 7042, the variants offer customers different actuation options for applications requiring precise control of small fluid flows at high pressures.
All four valve types are available with threaded connections conforming to ISO and ANSI standards, as well as standardised socket weld connections. According to the company, the socket weld option provides a compact connection designed to prevent leakage in very high-pressure service.
The valves share several technical characteristics across the different actuator and connection configurations. Minimum Kvs values are as low as 0.0027, the nominal pressure rating is PN320, and nominal sizes range from DN 8 to DN 15. Standard versions operate with media temperatures ranging from –60°C to +210°C. Special high-temperature versions extend the operating range to 530°C, allowing the valves to be used in processes involving extreme temperatures.
The valve bodies are machined from solid 1.4404 stainless steel. Their metallic sealing arrangements use replaceable trim made from hardened stainless steel or tungsten carbide. The design also incorporates special high-pressure packing intended to maintain leak tightness during frequent switching and in hydrogen applications.
The Type 7042 is equipped with the Type 8049 digital positioner, mounted above the valve. The positioner is available in ATEX or FM versions and can be configured with an IO-Link connection. The IO-Link option enables the valve to provide condition data that can be used for predictive maintenance planning and fault analysis. Schubert & Salzer said this functionality supports process and system reliability in demanding industrial environments.
The expanded range gives users a choice of pneumatic, electric and manual actuation while retaining common pressure, flow and size characteristics. The availability of different connection options also allows the valves to be selected according to installation and operating requirements.
With operating temperatures reaching 530°C in special versions, the portfolio addresses applications that require low-flow control under high pressure, elevated temperatures and demanding sealing conditions. Schubert & Salzer Control Systems develops industrial valves and control technology for process applications. Its products are used to regulate fluids and gases in industrial systems where precise flow control and reliable operation are required.
