Jungheinrich has launched the next generation of its EFG MB and EFG MC electric counterbalance forklifts across the Asia-Pacific region. The new models are available to order and are designed to meet material-handling requirements across warehouses, manufacturing plants, distribution centres, retail operations, pharmaceutical facilities and other industrial environments.

The three-wheel EFG MB covers load capacities from 1.6 to 2.0 tonnes and is designed for manoeuvrability in confined spaces. The four-wheel EFG MC offers capacities from 2.0 to 3.0 tonnes, providing stability for indoor and outdoor transport and stacking. Both series offer lift heights of up to 6,500 mm. Customers can configure the forklifts according to their operational requirements, selecting performance packages, battery technology, controls, seating, safety features and digital functions.

Lisa Jing Xue, Managing Director of Jungheinrich’s Qingpu Plant, said different operations required different combinations of manoeuvrability, lifting performance and operator features. She said the EFG M series allowed customers to choose the capabilities required for their current workloads and add further features as needs changed.

Two performance packages are available. The efficiencyPLUS package balances performance and energy consumption for everyday material handling, while drive&liftPLUS provides higher driving and lifting performance for high-throughput operations. The latter is standard on models with capacities of 2.5 to 3.0 tonnes.

Battery options include lead-acid and lithium-ion systems ranging from 346 to 690 Ah, allowing customers to match energy capacity to utilisation and shift patterns. Energy recovery during braking can reach up to 30%, helping reduce energy consumption and extend operating time.

The forklifts offer manual hydraulic levers or optional fingertip controls, along with a standard 2-inch display or an optional 4-inch display. A slim B-pillar, protected glass roof and compact mast profiles are designed to improve visibility. The EFG MC includes curveCONTROL as standard, automatically reducing speed while cornering. Additional assistance and lighting systems are available as options. Integrated telematics is standard and connects the trucks with Jungheinrich Fleet Management. The system provides fleet data to support utilisation monitoring, maintenance planning, pre-operational checks and equipment replacement decisions.

Madhukar Kaissary, Senior Director of Customer Service at Jungheinrich APAC, said the trucks were supported by the company’s global network of more than 6,100 trained customer service technicians, genuine spare parts and product-specific maintenance expertise. The EFG M series forms part of Jungheinrich’s electric counterbalance portfolio in Asia-Pacific, alongside AntOn by Jungheinrich for value-focused applications and the FalcOn technology platform for future heavy-duty electric handling.

Founded more than 70 years ago, Jungheinrich supplies material-handling equipment and warehouse solutions. In 2025, the company generated revenue of €5.5 billion with around 21,000 employees. It operates 12 production plants and sales and service companies in 42 countries, with eight direct sales units and partners in more than 14 countries across Asia-Pacific.
