Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has announced that LEQSELVI® (deuruxolitinib) will feature in seven presentations at the 2026 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress, including an oral presentation on long-term safety data in adults with severe alopecia areata (AA). The featured presentation reports results from a European open-label extension study evaluating up to two years of treatment with LEQSELVI. The safety profile remained generally consistent with previous clinical experience through two years of open-label treatment.

Most treatment-emergent adverse events were mild or moderate in severity, while treatment discontinuations due to adverse events were uncommon. No deaths, thrombosis or major adverse cardiovascular events were reported among patients receiving the US Food and Drug Administration-approved dose of 8 mg twice daily.

Long-term efficacy results presented in a poster also showed sustained scalp hair regrowth through Week 108. Among open-label extension baseline treatment responders with a Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score of 20 or below who maintained their response at Week 52 and continued in the study, 93.9% maintained their response at Week 108.

The data also showed that 76.6% of patients who were baseline nonresponders, with a SALT score above 20, achieved a response by Week 52. Among these patients who responded and continued in the study, 96.8% maintained their response at Week 108. A SALT score of 100 represents total scalp hair loss, while a score of 0 represents no scalp hair loss.

Arash Mostaghimi, MD, MPA, MPH, FAAD, Vice Chair of Clinical Trials and Innovation and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said severe alopecia areata is a chronic autoimmune disease and that long-term treatment is an important consideration for patients and physicians. “Collectively, these data show durable efficacy and maintenance of response for deuruxolitinib over time and reinforce the growing body of evidence supporting its use as a long-term treatment option for eligible adults,” he said.

Additional presentations at EADV 2026 include pooled post hoc analyses of the THRIVE-AA1 and THRIVE-AA2 studies. The analyses showed consistent efficacy across patient subgroups, including people with baseline eyebrow, eyelash or nail involvement and those with shorter- and longer-duration disease episodes.

Ahmad Naim, MD, Senior Vice President and North America Chief Medical Officer, Sun Pharma, said the EADV data provide further information on the long-term tolerability, durability of response and maintenance of clinical benefit associated with LEQSELVI in adults with severe alopecia areata.
