Transrail Lighting Limited (BSE: 544317, NSE: TRANSRAILL), an engineering, procurement and construction company focused on the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector, has increased its tower manufacturing capacity by 12,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) through a brownfield expansion at its Silvassa facility. Following the latest expansion, the company’s total tower manufacturing capacity has increased from 172,400 MTPA to 184,400 MTPA. The capacity addition is part of Transrail’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its manufacturing infrastructure and support the execution of its order book and future growth plans. The company is also progressing with Phase 2 of its planned expansion programme. Once the next phase is completed, Transrail’s overall tower manufacturing capacity is expected to exceed 200,000 MTPA.

Randeep Narang, Managing Director & CEO, Transrail Lighting Limited, said the latest capacity addition would strengthen the company’s manufacturing base and support the execution of its large order book. He added that Transrail would continue to expand its tower manufacturing capabilities, with capacity expected to cross 200,000 MTPA once the planned capital expenditure programme is fully completed.

The Silvassa expansion strengthens Transrail’s manufacturing capabilities for the power transmission and distribution sector, where the company provides turnkey engineering and EPC services. The increased capacity is intended to support its requirements for large-scale transmission projects and provide additional manufacturing capability as the company expands its business.

Transrail has four decades of experience in the power transmission and distribution industry and operates as a global EPC enterprise with its headquarters in India. The company has a presence across 64 countries spanning six continents. Its portfolio covers the complete project lifecycle, including design, engineering, supply, manufacturing, construction and testing. Its business verticals include transmission lines, substations, civil construction, railways, solar EPC, and poles and lighting.

As part of its Power T&D operations, Transrail operates manufacturing facilities in India for galvanised lattice towers, overhead conductors and galvanised monopoles. The company also has a tower testing facility supporting its manufacturing and engineering activities.

The company employs more than 2,800 people across its operations. The continued investment in manufacturing capacity forms part of Transrail’s broader efforts to strengthen its operational infrastructure and respond to requirements from the transmission and distribution sector.

With the latest 12,000 MTPA addition, Transrail’s tower manufacturing capacity now stands at 184,400 MTPA. The planned Phase 2 expansion is expected to take the company beyond the 200,000 MTPA capacity milestone upon completion of the associated capital expenditure programme.
