Hindustan Zinc Limited (BSE: 500188; NSE: HINDZINC) has partnered with Uber for Business to digitise corporate travel and simplify employee mobility across its operations. The partnership introduces a dedicated Hindustan Zinc Limited Business Profile on the Uber app, bringing ride bookings, corporate billing and travel management together on a single platform.
Under the arrangement, employees can switch between their personal and business profiles within the existing Uber app and access Uber for Business services across more than 120 cities in India. The service will support a range of official travel requirements, including business meetings, site visits, airport transfers, client engagements and inter-city journeys.
The dedicated business profile is intended to make official travel easier to manage by integrating bookings and corporate billing into the same digital process. The initiative is expected to reduce administrative work associated with employee travel while giving employees greater flexibility when arranging business journeys.
Employees will also be able to reserve rides in advance, helping them plan journeys for scheduled meetings and other official commitments. The service includes Uber’s built-in safety features and round-the-clock support, along with dedicated assistance from Uber for Business and Uber Safety Support.
Amarendu Prakash, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said the company was extending its use of technology beyond industrial operations to improve everyday employee processes. “As we continue to build a more digitally enabled and agile workplace, we are increasingly looking at technology not only to transform our operations, but also to simplify everyday experiences for our employees. Our partnership with Uber for Business brings business mobility onto a platform that is already familiar to our people, giving them greater comfort and access to a trusted ride partner while removing complexities across booking, billing and travel management,” he said.
Sudipt Agarwal, Head of Enterprise Sales, Uber for Business India, said the partnership would help Hindustan Zinc employees access mobility services suited to different business travel requirements. “As business travel evolves, organisations are looking for mobility solutions that offer greater convenience, flexibility and reliability. We are r pleased to partner with Hindustan Zinc to simplify employee mobility and provide its workforce with access to solutions that support a range of business travel needs,” Mr Agarwal said.
The collaboration is part of Hindustan Zinc’s broader effort to introduce digital solutions across its business. The company has been deploying automation, artificial intelligence, Industrial Internet of Things technologies and remote operating capabilities across its mining and processing operations. The partnership with Uber for Business extends this approach to employee mobility and enterprise-level processes.
