Mercedes-Maybach S 580e Launched in India at ₹3.35 Crore

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e 4MATIC in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹3.35 crore. The model is the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) to be introduced under the Mercedes-Maybach brand in India. Limited to 30 units at launch, the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e combines a six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric powertrain and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The system produces 585 hp and 750 Nm of torque and is paired with a 9G-TRONIC transmission.

The luxury limousine offers a WLTP-certified electric range of up to 98 km, with real-world driving range expected to be around 100 km depending on conditions. It can operate in electric mode at speeds of up to 140 km/h. The vehicle supports charging at up to 11 kW through AC and up to 60 kW through DC charging.

The India-spec S 580e is offered with a four-seat First-Class rear configuration featuring individual Executive rear seats, a full-length Business Centre Console, wireless charging and temperature-controlled cup holders. The Rear Comfort Package Plus adds climatised seats, rear MBUX controls and adaptive ambient lighting.

The vehicle features a Burmester High-End 4D Surround Sound System with 31 speakers, eight exciters and 1,610 watts of output. Safety features include PRE-SAFE, 15 airbags, MB.DRIVE ASSIST, GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus and Digital Light with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus.

The S 580e also features MB.OS, MBUX Superscreen, a 3D driver display, augmented reality navigation and head-up display. Cloud-based AIRMATIC suspension uses navigation data to adjust damping, while rear-axle steering can operate through up to 10 degrees. The vehicle is available with MANUFAKTUR Exclusive two-tone and Exclusive Nappa leather finishes. Its standard features also include Maybach-specific exterior detailing and illuminated elements.

Mercedes-Benz India pioneered the luxury car market in the country and completed 30 years of operations in India in 2024. Over the years, the company has built a strong presence through its manufacturing capabilities, wide retail network and growing portfolio of luxury vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz India operates a world-class production facility in Chakan near Pune. Established in 2009 and spread across 100 acres, the facility is part of the Mercedes-Benz Global Production Network and plays an important role in the company’s Completely Knocked Down (CKD) production network.

The Chakan facility has received an investment of more than ₹3,000 crore, the highest investment by any luxury automotive manufacturer in India. It also has one of the largest installed production capacities among luxury carmakers in the country.

Mercedes-Benz India has developed one of the widest luxury retail networks in India, with more than 150 luxury touchpoints across 60 cities. The company has also established a strong presence for its high-performance AMG brand through dedicated AMG Performance Centres across the country.

The company offers a wide range of vehicles across luxury sedans, SUVs, performance cars and electric vehicles. Its locally produced portfolio includes the C-Class, E-Class Long Wheelbase, S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S 580 limousine. The portfolio also includes the V-Class and a growing range of electric vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz India’s Made-in-India SUV portfolio includes the GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS. The company also offers a range of Completely Built Unit (CBU) models, including the G 450d, Mercedes-Maybach GLS and several AMG models ranging from the AMG A 45 S to the AMG GT 63 S.

Mercedes-Benz has also played a key role in developing the luxury battery electric vehicle segment in India. Its electric vehicle portfolio includes the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, G 580, locally produced EQS 580 sedan and EQS SUV. The company has continued to expand its electric vehicle offerings with new models such as the CLA BEV.

In addition to its product portfolio, Mercedes-Benz India has focused on transforming the luxury car buying experience. The company introduced its direct-to-customer business model, known as ‘Retail of the Future’, making India one of the early markets globally to adopt the model.

The new retail model aims to provide customers with a more consistent and transparent buying experience while strengthening the connection between the brand and its customers. Through this model, Mercedes-Benz India has sold around 80,000 new Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
