Valmet has completed the divestment of its pump business to Metso, covering Flowrox peristaltic hose and progressive cavity pump technologies, along with related aftermarket spare parts and service capabilities. The transaction, announced on August 24, 2026, transfers the Flowrox pump products to Metso, where they will be integrated into the company’s pumps portfolio and rebranded under the Metso name.
The divested business includes peristaltic hose pump and progressive cavity pump technologies that were previously part of Valmet’s flow control offering. It also includes associated aftermarket spare parts and service capabilities supporting the pump products.
Valmet said the Flowrox trademark and brand will remain with the company following the transaction. Flowrox valves will continue to form part of Valmet’s valve portfolio. The separation of the pump business allows the two companies to focus their respective portfolios on their core areas. Metso will incorporate the acquired pump technologies into its existing pumps business, while Valmet will retain the Flowrox brand and continue to develop its valve offering.
Metso provides technologies, equipment, end-to-end solutions and services for the aggregates, minerals processing and metals refining industries. The integration of the Flowrox pump products will add peristaltic hose and progressive cavity pump technologies to its existing pumps portfolio.
Flowrox pump technologies are used in industrial applications where the controlled movement of abrasive, viscous or challenging materials is required. The aftermarket capabilities transferred as part of the transaction include spare parts and service support associated with the pump products.
For Valmet, the Flowrox valves will remain part of its flow control portfolio. The company has developed flow control solutions for industrial processes, with products and services used across sectors including mining and metals, pulp and paper, energy and other process industries.
Valmet said the divestment does not have a material impact on its financial performance. The transaction follows Valmet’s review of its business portfolio and the company’s focus on developing its flow control, automation and process technology activities. The completion marks the transfer of the pump-related operations to Metso while retaining the Flowrox name and valve business within Valmet.
With the transaction completed, customers of the divested pump products will receive the products and related services through Metso’s pumps organisation. Metso will integrate the technologies and aftermarket capabilities into its operations and offer the products under the Metso brand.
The Flowrox trademark will continue to be owned by Valmet, including its use in connection with the company’s valve portfolio. The arrangement separates the pump and valve businesses while maintaining continuity for the respective product lines. The completion of the transaction gives Metso responsibility for the Flowrox peristaltic hose and progressive cavity pump technologies and related aftermarket activities, while Valmet continues to operate the Flowrox valve business as part of its flow control offering.
