National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, in association with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), organised an investor roadshow in Kolkata to showcase investment opportunities at the Angul Aluminium Park. The roadshow focused on opportunities in downstream and value-added aluminium manufacturing and highlighted the potential of the Angul Aluminium Park as an industrial hub for companies looking to establish manufacturing facilities and develop aluminium-based products.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging greater investment in downstream industries and strengthening the aluminium value chain in Odisha. By promoting value addition closer to the source of raw materials, the park is expected to support the development of an integrated industrial ecosystem around aluminium production and processing.

Addressing the gathering, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal & Mines, said aluminium remains an important part of India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said enhancing production, increasing value addition and strengthening the downstream ecosystem are key priorities.

The Angul Aluminium Park has been developed as a dedicated industrial zone to facilitate downstream aluminium industries. The park provides an opportunity for manufacturers to establish units that can use aluminium and related products as raw materials for a range of applications.

The investor outreach programme brought together industry stakeholders and potential investors to discuss opportunities associated with the park and the wider aluminium manufacturing ecosystem in Odisha. The roadshow also highlighted the scope for collaboration between government agencies, aluminium producers and downstream manufacturers.

NALCO, one of India’s major aluminium producers, has its integrated operations in Odisha, including bauxite mining, alumina refining and aluminium production. The company’s presence in the state provides a base for the development of industries that can utilise aluminium produced within the region.

The development of downstream manufacturing is expected to create opportunities across sectors that use aluminium in industrial and consumer applications. These include engineering products, electrical and infrastructure-related components, transportation equipment and other value-added products.

The partnership between NALCO and IDCO reflects the focus on developing supporting industrial infrastructure and attracting investment into aluminium-based manufacturing. The roadshow formed part of efforts to engage investors and industry participants and provide information on opportunities available at the Angul Aluminium Park.

The initiative also supports the broader objective of increasing domestic manufacturing and reducing dependence on imported value-added aluminium products. A stronger downstream ecosystem can enable greater processing and manufacturing within the country while creating opportunities for employment, technology development and new industrial capacities. Through the investor roadshow, NALCO and IDCO sought to build awareness about the park and encourage companies to explore opportunities in downstream aluminium manufacturing in Odisha.
