JBM Auto Limited, an Indian automotive and electric mobility company, continued its leadership in India’s electric bus market in September 2026, registering 274 electric buses during the month. According to Vahan data, the company recorded the highest number of electric bus registrations in the country during September, with a market share of 33%.

JBM Auto also maintained its position during the first half of FY26-27. Between April and September 2026, the company registered 892 electric buses, accounting for approximately 24% of the Indian electric bus market. During the same period, the overall electric bus market recorded 3,771 registrations. The company said its continued performance reflects growing demand for electric buses and the expansion of its electric mobility solutions across public and institutional transportation.

JBM Auto has also reported strong performance in the electric bus segment during FY26, when it recorded the highest number of electric bus registrations in the country. The company attributes its continued market presence to its integrated electric mobility ecosystem, manufacturing capabilities and focus on purpose-built electric vehicles.

Commenting on the performance, Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JBM Auto, said, “Our continued leadership in India’s electric bus market is a true reflection of the scale, depth and execution strength of the ecosystem we have built over the years. Our purpose-built born EV solutions offer innovation, efficiency, safety and a passenger-first approach. Aligned to our Net Zero 2040 commitment, our vision is to make every day travel cleaner, smarter and more accessible for people across the country.”

JBM Auto operates an integrated electric bus manufacturing facility in the NCR region, which the company describes as the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China. The facility has an annual manufacturing capacity of 20,000 buses.

The facility brings together design, engineering, testing, validation and manufacturing operations. This integrated setup enables the company to develop and manufacture electric buses for different public transportation requirements. According to the company, its electric buses have so far covered more than 450 million e-kilometres and carried over 2 billion passengers. The company also estimates that its electric bus operations have helped avoid more than 1 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions.

JBM Auto said these milestones highlight the increasing role of electric buses in India’s public transport system. The company continues to focus on expanding electric mobility solutions and supporting the shift towards zero-emission public transportation. The September registrations and H1 FY26-27 performance add to JBM Auto’s growing presence in India’s electric bus segment as cities and institutions expand the use of electric vehicles for public transportation.
