Nokia is extending its longstanding partnership with Microsoft to accelerate network automation for telecommunications providers through the development of an agentic, unified data foundation designed to support faster and more reliable AI-driven network operations. The collaboration combines Nokia Data Suite’s ready-to-use telecommunications data products with Microsoft Fabric’s unified analytics, governance and artificial intelligence capabilities. The integration is intended to help operators access trusted, high-quality network data in minutes rather than weeks, simplifying complex data integration and reducing the time required to generate actionable insights.

“By bringing the right data, at the right time, for the right reason to telecom operators worldwide, we are helping networks evolve from static infrastructures into programmable, AI-native platforms,” said Vivek Jaiswal, Senior Vice President, Autonomous Networks, Nokia.

Nokia Data Suite provides prebuilt and reusable telco data products supported by glass-box data quality controls and telecommunications-specific semantic modelling. These capabilities are designed to provide transparency, explainability and greater trust in AI-driven decisions. Microsoft Fabric provides a unified data platform incorporating OneLake storage, analytics tools and AI-native applications including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Foundry and Power BI.

By bringing the two platforms together, operators can move from fragmented data environments towards more autonomous and scalable network operations. Nokia’s data products can be provisioned on demand and combined with Microsoft Fabric’s enterprise, IT and third-party data sources. This creates a foundation for AI applications including automated root-cause analysis and closed-loop operations aimed at improving service quality and operational efficiency.

The solution is designed for multi-vendor and cross-domain telecommunications environments and supports hybrid and cloud infrastructures, including on-premises deployments. This flexibility can help operators address regulatory requirements while advancing their AI and automation strategies.

“Telecom providers are ready to move AI from experimentation into everyday network operations, but that requires trusted data, strong governance and platforms that can scale. By bringing together Nokia Data Suite and Microsoft Fabric, we are creating a faster path to turn complex network data into actionable intelligence,” said Silvia Candiani, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Telco & Media, Microsoft.

The collaboration builds on Nokia and Microsoft’s existing work across cloud, data, AI and cybersecurity, including development and go-to-market activities for telecommunications customers. The solution is available now, with additional autonomous network use cases and customer deployments being developed.

Initial applications include autonomous VoNR assurance, where AI agents detect anomalies, conduct root-cause analysis and recommend remedial actions using network, service and subscriber data. Another application is geo-experience, which uses AI and machine learning to correlate RAN subscriber sessions with geographic locations, identify degraded radio performance and pinpoint coverage or capacity hotspots.

Predictive maintenance and fault management capabilities use historical and real-time information to anticipate potential network issues before they affect customers. AI-driven operational assistants can also support network engineers with contextual insights, recommended actions and automated workflow execution while maintaining human oversight and defined governance boundaries.
