STL [NSE: STLTECH], a global provider of advanced connectivity solutions for AI-ready digital infrastructure, has announced Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP) US certification for its 48 to 576F Intermittently Bonded Ribbon (IBR) pre-terminated assembly portfolio. The certification confirms NFPA 262 compliance for STL’s indoor cable assemblies, designed to address the connectivity, bandwidth density and fire-safety requirements of next-generation AI data centers. With the certification, STL is among the global infrastructure providers offering NFPA 262-qualified indoor cable assemblies for AI-ready deployments.

The factory-built assemblies are supplied with connectors installed, polished and tested, eliminating the need for field splicing and associated equipment. This enables faster installation while helping data center operators reduce deployment complexity and costs. The plenum-rated portfolio is designed specifically for indoor applications across hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data center environments. The assemblies are suited to overhead and underfloor pathways and containment zones where space constraints and safety requirements are critical.

As AI workloads drive increasing demand for computing capacity and higher-density network infrastructure, data center operators require physical-layer solutions that can support greater bandwidth within restricted routing environments. STL’s IBR assemblies are designed to enable bandwidth expansion within tight duct spaces while maintaining the required safety compliance.

“As AI workloads push the boundaries of data center design, the physical layer must evolve to meet unprecedented density and safety demands,” said Dr Badri Gomatam, CTO, Optical Networking Business, STL. “Achieving this plenum certification for our indoor IBR cable family is a testament to STL’s engineering excellence and our commitment to being the partner of choice for the world’s largest hyperscalers. We are proud to deliver solutions that not only power the AI revolution but do so with the highest standards of safety and reliability.”

The newly certified portfolio spans 48F to 576F configurations, providing data center operators with options for high-density connectivity across a range of network architectures. The pre-terminated format also supports more consistent installation and testing compared with field-assembled connections.

STL provides end-to-end connectivity solutions for AI-ready infrastructure, FTTx, rural, enterprise and data center networks. Its offerings are developed for data center and cloud companies, telecom operators, internet service providers and large enterprises building digital infrastructure.

With manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe and Asia, STL serves customers in more than 100 countries. The company’s business is focused on customer needs, research and development and sustainability, with technologies designed to support the evolving requirements of global digital networks.
