ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ACME Solar), through its subsidiaries, has commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan, expanding its operational renewable energy portfolio. Through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Private Limited, the company has commissioned Phase-I of a 300 MW solar project at Kelan Village in Bikaner. The 66.68 MW commissioned capacity forms part of ACME Solar’s first hybrid renewable energy project, which combines 300 MW of solar capacity with 100 MW of wind capacity.
The project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited and long-term project financing from Power Finance Corporation (PFC). ACME Solar expects to commission the entire 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27. Following the commissioning, ACME Solar’s operational renewable energy capacity has increased to approximately 3,057 MW.
Separately, ACME Solar, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, has commissioned Phase-I of the BESS component of its Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at the same site. The commissioned phase comprises 53.63 MW/300 MWh of BESS capacity, out of the project’s total planned capacity of 300 MW/1,581 MWh.
The BESS project is ACME Solar’s first assured off-peak power supply project. Its PPA has been signed with SJVN Limited, while long-term project financing has been arranged with REC. ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity of the project by Q3 of the current fiscal year. With the commissioning of the 300 MWh Phase-I capacity, the company’s total operational BESS capacity has reached 4.16 GWh, taking it beyond the 4 GWh milestone.
The commissioning of the solar and storage projects adds to ACME Solar’s portfolio of renewable energy assets across solar, wind, storage, FDRE and hybrid projects. The company has a contracted portfolio of 8,370 MW spanning these technologies. ACME Solar has an operational renewable energy capacity of approximately 3,057 MW and 4.16 GWh of operational BESS capacity. Its portfolio includes projects designed to provide renewable power as well as dispatchable and storage-backed electricity.
The company has in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities. These functions support project development and the operation and maintenance of its renewable energy assets. The commissioning of the Bikaner solar and BESS capacities marks another step in ACME Solar’s expansion of its renewable generation and energy storage portfolio. The company continues to develop projects combining solar, wind, storage and FDRE capabilities to support the growing requirement for renewable and dispatchable power in India.
ACME Solar Holdings has a diversified renewable energy portfolio of 8,370 MW covering solar, wind, storage, firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) and hybrid projects. Its operational contracted capacity stands at 2,990 MW, along with approximately 3.62 GWh of BESS capacity. The company also has 5,380 MW of contracted capacity under construction, while its under-construction portfolio with signed PPAs stands at 4,010 MW.
The company has in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance capabilities. These functions support project development, construction and long-term plant operations. The latest financing strengthens ACME Solar’s ability to execute its Rajasthan project and expand its battery-backed renewable power portfolio. The project is expected to contribute to the company’s broader strategy of developing large-scale renewable energy assets capable of delivering reliable power to the grid.
