The semiconductor industry is placing greater emphasis on precision manufacturing as advanced materials and applications continue to evolve. Surface-processing technologies play an important role in achieving the required accuracy, consistency, and quality across these applications. Synergy Machine Tools, the authorised partner of Yuhuan CNC Machine Tools Co, Ltd. in India, will showcase its expertise in precision grinding, lapping and polishing for semiconductor and advanced-material applications at SEMICON India 2026, being held from September 17–19, 2026, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.
At Hall 2, Booth H6911, Synergy will present technologies for applications where thickness, flatness, parallelism and surface finish need to be controlled with high accuracy. This focus connects with the theme of SEMICON India 2026, “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” which brings together companies and professionals from across the semiconductor and electronics value chain. For Synergy, the event provides an opportunity to showcase precision surface-processing technologies that support critical stages of SiC ingot preparation, wafer processing and substrate finishing, while engaging with manufacturers and technology providers contributing to India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The centre of Synergy’s showcase will be two technologies developed for semiconductor and advanced-material applications: a High Precision Vertical Rotary Table Surface Grinding Machine for SiC ingot grinding and a Vertical Double-Surface Lapping and Polishing Machine for wafers and ceramic substrates. Alongside these machines, the company will highlight its capabilities in precision grinding, double-sided fine grinding, lapping and polishing for SiC, sapphire, ceramics and other advanced substrates, with a focus on precision surface processing from ingot grinding to wafer and substrate finishing.
These capabilities are becoming increasingly relevant as India’s semiconductor value chain develops across wafer processing, substrate finishing, advanced packaging and materials. Such processes require controlled material removal, dimensional accuracy and repeatable surface quality. Synergy follows an application-oriented approach, understanding the required output specifications before recommending the appropriate machine configuration, tooling and process parameters, particularly for demanding materials such as SiC, sapphire and ceramics.
To demonstrate these capabilities beyond machine specifications, Synergy will display actual SiC ingots, sapphire and ceramic substrates processed on Yuhuan machines at its facility in China. Rather than a live machine demonstration, the samples will give visitors a practical view of results achieved through SiC ingot grinding and wafer/substrate double-surface lapping and polishing, including surface finish, thickness consistency, flatness and parallelism. The technical team will also discuss material characteristics, stock removal, thickness control, flatness, parallelism, surface finish and cycle-time expectations, and help identify suitable machine configurations for specific applications.
The semiconductor-focused technologies will be presented alongside Synergy’s wider surface-processing portfolio, including double disc surface grinders, double-side fine grinding machines, rotary surface grinding machines with horizontal and vertical spindle configurations, and hydraulic and high-precision surface grinding machines. The company sees applications across SiC, sapphire, ceramics and other advanced substrates, with potential customers including semiconductor and substrate manufacturers, wafer-processing companies, advanced-material manufacturers and precision component manufacturers.
This approach has shaped Synergy Machine Tools since Sheshnarayan Pandey took over as Director in 2014. Rather than focusing only on machine specifications, the company delivers practical engineering value on the shop floor. Its experience across automotive, aerospace, bearings, electronics and semiconductor-related applications, combined with Yuhuan CNC Machine Tools Co., Ltd.’s machine-tool technology, supports customers through application engineering, installation coordination and after-sales service. At SEMICON India 2026, Synergy aims to strengthen its presence in the semiconductor sector by bringing Yuhuan’s advanced precision surface-processing technologies to Indian customers, supported by local application expertise and technical support.
