Coperion has introduced the AutoAccess automated rotary valve extraction system and WFV diverter valve to make cleaning, inspection, maintenance and bulk-material handling easier and more efficient for industrial users. The patented AutoAccess system is designed to reduce the time and effort required to remove a rotary valve rotor. Its bayonet locking mechanism allows the side cover of the valve to be released mechanically without the use of tools. Once unlocked, the rotor can be pulled out in a straight movement in less than one minute.

After extraction, the rotor and bayonet lock can be moved to the side, providing direct access for inspection, cleaning and maintenance. This arrangement can help operators reduce equipment downtime and improve accessibility during routine servicing. Coperion has also redesigned the rotor coupling and bearing system as part of the AutoAccess solution. The new coupling allows the rotor to be positioned at any angle during extraction and reinsertion. Operators therefore do not need to rotate the rotor into a specific position before reconnecting it to the drive.

The external bearing arrangement features a shaft seal that prevents conveyed material from entering the bearing assembly. The bearing has also been reinforced to allow the rotor to rotate while it is positioned on the extracted side cover. This feature gives maintenance personnel better access to the rotor blades and chambers, making it easier to remove residual material and carry out thorough cleaning.

Alongside AutoAccess, Coperion has developed its WFV stainless-steel diverter valve for the gravimetric distribution of bulk materials into gravity pipes. The valve is designed to support controlled material flow and is available in several configurations for different operating conditions.

The rotating section of the WFV valve has a rounded design that promotes smooth movement of bulk materials through the system. A gap-tight version is primarily intended for applications involving no-pressure discharge, while also being suitable for systems operating under low or moderate pressure.

Coperion has developed different sealing arrangements to meet the requirements of these applications. The valve incorporates optimized wall thicknesses and smooth surfaces, helping improve material flow and making the equipment easier to clean. The WFV diverter valve can also be disassembled, allowing operators to access internal components during cleaning and maintenance.

With the AutoAccess system and WFV diverter valve, Coperion is addressing key requirements in bulk-material handling, including equipment accessibility, reduced maintenance time, hygienic operation and reliable material distribution. The new solutions are designed to support industrial processors looking to improve plant efficiency while maintaining dependable equipment performance. By combining easier access with improved mechanical design, Coperion aims to help customers simplify routine maintenance and reduce interruptions in bulk-material processing operations.
