Nidec Machine Tool America (NMTA) will showcase its latest gear manufacturing and inspection technologies at IMTS 2026, scheduled to take place from September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place in Chicago. NMTA will exhibit at Booth #237054 in the North Building, Level 3. The company will demonstrate its new RoboCam automated inspection system, along with the ZFA260 gear grinder and MSS300 Super Skiving machine.

RoboCam will make its first public appearance at IMTS 2026. The robotic camera-based system is designed to automate the inspection of gear cutting tools. Using artificial intelligence, RoboCam assesses tool condition and provides manufacturers with information that can help improve inspection efficiency, tooling performance and maintenance planning.

The ZFA260 gear grinder will also be featured at the exhibition. Designed for high-speed and high-precision machining, the machine can process gears with external diameters of up to 260 mm. Its twin-table configuration and high-speed rotary column are designed to reduce non-machining time and improve production efficiency.

The machine also features simultaneous full-form flank bias adjustment, allowing manufacturers to optimise tooth geometry. The ZFA260 is targeted at high-volume applications, including automotive and robotic components, where accuracy, repeatability and production speed are important.

NMTA will also demonstrate the MSS300 Super Skiving machine, which is designed for machining both internal and external gears. The machine features a rigid construction aimed at improving thermal and mechanical stability during production. Its three linear axes use large guideways to provide rigidity, while a twin-ball-screw drive on the Z-axis supports consistent power delivery and control.

Nidec’s patented Super Skiving tools are designed to reduce chip loading and enable efficient machining through Nidec-optimised skiving strategies. The MSS300 can accommodate workpieces with diameters of up to 300 mm and gear widths of up to 100 mm. Its maximum spindle speed is 5,000 rpm.

Scott Knoy, VP of Sales, Nidec Machine Tool America, said the company’s IMTS showcase will focus on technologies that address production challenges, including automated inspection and faster machining of complex gears. In addition to gear manufacturing equipment, NMTA’s wider technology portfolio includes LAMDA laser powder directed energy deposition systems, ABLASER laser micromachining systems and BOND MEISTER room-temperature wafer bonding machines.

These solutions serve applications including metal additive manufacturing, precision laser processing and semiconductor production. Visitors to IMTS 2026 can meet NMTA’s technical experts at Booth #237054 to learn about its solutions for gear manufacturing, tooling, inspection and advanced production.
