JSW Infrastructure Limited, part of the JSW Group and Inia’s second-largest private commercial port operator, reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, supported by higher cargo volumes, growth in its logistics business and continued expansion across its port network. During the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company handled 31 million tonnes of cargo, registering a 6% year-on-year increase. Revenue from operations grew 18% to Rs. 1,445 crore, while operating EBITDA rose 16% to Rs. 674 crore. Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at Rs. 463 crore and Profit After Tax (PAT) was Rs. 358 crore.
The company maintained a strong financial position with net cash of Rs. 2,769 crore, gross debt of Rs. 7,094 crore and cash and bank balances of Rs. 9,863 crore, providing significant flexibility to fund future expansion plans. Cargo growth during the quarter was driven by higher volumes at Jaigarh Port, supported by increased cargo from anchor customers and growing third-party business across newer cargo segments. Strong performance at Dharamtar Port, South West Port and Ennore Bulk Terminal, along with contributions from interim operations at the Tuticorin Terminal, also supported growth. Lower cargo volumes at the Fujairah Liquid Terminal due to a challenging operating environment in the Middle East partially offset the gains.
The ports business recorded operational revenue of Rs. 1,208 crore, up 11% from Rs. 1,086 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The increase was supported by higher cargo handling and a favourable cargo mix. The logistics business continued to deliver strong momentum following the Navkar Corp acquisition. Revenue from logistics increased to Rs. 237 crore from Rs. 138 crore in the year-ago quarter, while operating EBITDA surged to Rs. 73 crore from Rs. 20 crore. The improvement was driven by operating leverage and increased contribution from the company’s expanding rail rake fleet.
During the quarter, JSW Infrastructure expanded cargo handling capacity at South West Port in Goa from 11 MTPA to 12 MTPA and increased the capacity of the Mangalore Container Terminal from 4.2 MTPA to 6 MTPA. The company also secured environmental clearance and approval for rail connectivity to the Dedicated Freight Corridor for the proposed Murbe Port in Maharashtra, marking an important development milestone.
The company commenced interim operations at the Kolkata Container Terminal and secured another public-private partnership project at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port with a capacity of around 0.93 million TEUs. With this addition, its total container handling capacity at Kolkata has increased to 1.4 million TEUs. Commercial operations also began at the Arakkonam General Cargo Terminal, further strengthening its logistics network.
JSW Infrastructure successfully completed a Rs. 7,503 crore Qualified Institutional Placement during the quarter. The capital raised will support future expansion plans, strengthen compliance with SEBI’s minimum public shareholding norms and attract long-term global and domestic investors. The company also received Moody’s Baa3 Investment Grade rating with a Stable Outlook, reflecting its strong balance sheet, improved liquidity and financial strength.
Looking ahead, JSW Infrastructure remains focused on expanding its cargo handling capacity from the current 186 MTPA to 400 MTPA by FY2030 or earlier through a planned capital investment of Rs. 30,000 crore. It has also earmarked Rs. 9,000 crore to expand its logistics business and build a nationwide integrated logistics platform. For FY27, the company has guided for consolidated operating revenue of Rs. 6,850 crore and operating EBITDA of Rs. 3,000 crore, supported by continued growth in its ports business, expanding logistics operations and ongoing capacity additions across its network.
JSW Infrastructure currently operates 13 strategically located port concessions across India and international terminal operations in the UAE. The company aims to expand cargo-handling capacity from the current 183 MTPA to 400 MTPA by 2030 while continuing to strengthen its sustainability and ESG initiatives across operations.
