Godrej Agrovet Limited (Godrej Agrovet), one of India’s leading agri-business companies, has inaugurated India’s first Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam, Telangana, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards self-reliance in edible oil production. The company’s cumulative investment in the project will reach ₹300 crore once the entire complex becomes fully operational.
The state-of-the-art facility integrates the complete oil palm value chain under one campus, including seed and genetics, nursery, research and development, a processing mill, and an upcoming refinery. Designed to improve operational efficiency, quality control, and farmer support, the complex is expected to play a key role in expanding sustainable oil palm cultivation in Telangana.
The complex was inaugurated by Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Finance & Planning, Energy, Government of Telangana, in the presence of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Revenue and Housing; Tummala Nageswara Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture; D Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce; and Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, Member of Parliament from Khammam. Senior leaders from the Godrej Group, including Nadir Godrej, Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, also attended the event.
The processing mill—the first private-sector oil palm mill in Telangana—has commenced operations with an initial capacity of 30 tonnes per hour, expandable to 60 tonnes per hour. The expansion aligns with Godrej Agrovet’s plan to increase the area under oil palm cultivation in the state from the current 10,000 hectares to 30,000 hectares by 2030. The integrated campus also houses the Samadhan Centre, a dedicated farmer support facility that provides agronomic advisory services, access to quality planting material, farm inputs, and technical assistance, enabling growers to improve productivity and adopt sustainable cultivation practices.
Commenting on the inauguration, Sunil Kataria, Managing Director & CEO, Godrej Agrovet, said, “This integrated complex reflects our long-term commitment to building strong agricultural infrastructure before scaling operations. By bringing the entire oil palm value chain under one roof, we can enhance quality, efficiency, and traceability while supporting farmers with world-class resources. Telangana has the potential to become a key contributor to India’s edible oil security, and we remain committed to creating sustainable value for farmers, communities, and stakeholders.”
