Renault India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Renault Group, has unveiled the New Renault Kwid with refreshed styling, a simplified variant portfolio and a revised pricing strategy aimed at making first-car ownership more accessible for Indian customers. The updated hatchback also introduces Renault’s latest global brand identity, further enhancing its contemporary appeal.
The New Kwid is now available in two variants—Evolution and Climber—streamlining the purchase process and making it easier for buyers to select a model that suits their needs. Prices start at ₹4.52 lakh and go up to ₹5.60 lakh (ex-showroom), while customers purchasing the top-end Climber variant through Renault’s online sales platform can avail a cash benefit of ₹15,000, bringing its effective transactional price down to ₹4.99 lakh. The latest update reflects Renault India’s focus on meeting the expectations of first-time car buyers and customers upgrading from two-wheelers by offering a combination of attractive styling, practical features and competitive pricing.
The New Kwid carries Renault’s redesigned logo and updated visual identity, reinforcing the brand’s evolving design language. While retaining its SUV-inspired stance that has differentiated it in the entry-level hatchback segment since its launch in 2015, the refreshed model offers a cleaner and more contemporary appearance.Renault has also adopted a simplified product strategy by reducing the range to two clearly defined variants. The move is intended to eliminate complexity in the buying process and provide customers with a more straightforward ownership experience.
Commenting on the launch, Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Renault India, said that owning a car continues to be a significant aspiration for millions of Indian families. He noted that with a growing middle class and a large number of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, the demand for affordable and well-equipped entry-level cars remains strong.
He added that more than 4.5 lakh customers have chosen the Renault Kwid since its introduction, making it one of the company’s most successful products in India. The latest version builds on that legacy by offering a more relevant product with simplified choices, updated styling and improved value.
Since entering the Indian market over a decade ago, the Kwid has helped redefine expectations in the entry hatchback category by combining SUV-inspired design with modern features. The latest update strengthens its position by making ownership more accessible through simplified variants, attractive pricing and exclusive online purchase benefits, further reinforcing Renault India’s commitment to delivering value-driven mobility solutions for Indian consumers.
