Parker Hannifin has expanded its hydraulic motion and control portfolio with the introduction of the D-version option for its direct-operated DFplus Gen IV valve series. The latest enhancement adds a freely configurable second control loop, enabling greater flexibility and precision in demanding closed-loop control applications across a range of industrial sectors.

The new D-version has been developed to address the growing need for highly responsive pressure and position control in modern manufacturing environments. It is particularly suited for applications such as pressure regulation in paper production machinery, as well as rapid pressure control and relief functions in high-speed press systems where precision and responsiveness are critical.

The upgraded valve platform allows analog pressure and displacement measurement systems to be connected directly to the valve electronics. In addition to processing sensor inputs, the integrated electronics also provide power supply to connected sensors, simplifying installation and reducing system complexity.

Built on the proven DFplus Gen IV platform, the D-version combines the performance of Parker’s DFplus pilot-valve technology with a high-resolution sensor signal interface. Users can configure customized pressure or position control functions through the newly introduced secondary control loop, allowing the valve to adapt to a broad range of operating requirements.

The valve also incorporates a selectable setpoint type for analog setpoint signals and supports standard IO-Link Class A communication. For applications requiring additional functionality, an optional IO-Link Class B variant is available, enabling a switchable controller configuration. Sensors are connected through a dedicated M12 socket integrated into the valve electronics, ensuring straightforward connectivity and streamlined commissioning.

The D-version option is available across the D1FP, D3FP and D30FP valve families. Configuration and parameterization can be performed using Parker’s ProPXD software or through an IO-Link connection, giving users multiple options for system setup and optimization.

According to Parker, the addition of a second configurable control loop significantly expands the application potential of the DFplus platform while delivering a cost-effective solution for high-performance hydraulic control systems. “The DFplus D-version valves offer a cost-effective solution for high dynamic closed loop-controlled applications such as volume flow control in pumps or highly precise pressure control in demanding applications,” said Frank Henschke, Product Manager, Hydraulic Valve Systems Division Europe at Parker.
