Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) has announced the launch of Dentic World Private Limited, a dedicated dental MedTech innovation hub established within its campus. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s capabilities in dental technology development and manufacturing, addressing long-standing gaps in the sector.

India’s dental industry continues to rely heavily on imports, with a large share of equipment and critical materials sourced from overseas. This dependence has resulted in higher costs, longer procurement cycles, and limited customisation, particularly affecting smaller clinics and emerging markets. Domestic manufacturing in this segment is still developing, with limited availability of advanced tooling, biomaterials, and digital production systems.

Dentic World has been set up to support the development of indigenous dental technologies by bringing together startups, researchers, dental institutions, and industry participants on a common platform. The hub is designed to enable faster innovation and adoption of new technologies, ultimately benefiting dental professionals across the country.

The initiative operates under the guidance of Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of AMTZ, and is led by Krishna Sai Inkoolu, Chief Executive Officer of Dentic World. It offers integrated support across the entire product development lifecycle, including research and development, design services, precision manufacturing, testing, clinical validation, and commercialisation.

A key focus area for the hub will be the development of critical dental products such as zirconia discs used in crowns, advanced dental implants, and other high-value consumables that are currently imported. By building local manufacturing capabilities, the initiative aims to improve availability and reduce costs for dental care providers.

The facility leverages AMTZ’s shared infrastructure, which includes sterilisation units, testing laboratories, regulatory support systems, and advanced manufacturing capabilities. Access to specialised equipment such as five-axis CNC machines, industrial 3D printers, and digital CAD/CAM systems enables the production of high-precision dental components in line with international quality standards, including ISO 13485:2016.

The hub is also working on emerging areas such as digital orthodontics, artificial intelligence-driven dental treatments, 3D-printed dental solutions, and early detection technologies for oral diseases. These focus areas highlight a shift towards technology-driven and accessible dental care.

By creating an integrated ecosystem, Dentic World is expected to support local innovation, strengthen supply chains, and encourage collaboration between academia and industry. The initiative is aligned with the Make in India programme and is positioned to contribute to reducing import dependence while expanding access to advanced dental solutions.
