Despite being a woman in a field dominated by men, Sruthi is determined to succeed and has risen through the ranks to become the CEO of her family business. She is passionate about multi-tasking and overall development, and she is determined to learn everything she can about the industry. However, she faces challenges due to gender stereotypes and a lack of support from male colleagues. Sruthi believes that women should be respected in the shop floor and their knowledge and expertise should not be overlooked. She is working towards bringing about a revolution in women’s empowerment in the manufacturing sector.
Sruthi Rajendran, growing up in a family business that was already established by her father, Rajendran Narayanasamy in 1984. Sruthi had a unique opportunity to see the inner workings of the manufacturing industry from an early age. Her fascination with machines and how they work led her to pursue a degree in Production Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and she accomplished the degree in 2018.
However, the road to success was not easy. Sruthi was aware that she had chosen an extra ordinary work field and was prepared to deal with the stereotypical circumstances that come with being a woman in a field dominated by men. But she was determined to succeed, and this determination proved to be her greatest asset.
During her college years, Sruthi found herself one of only seven women in her class, a small number compared to the male students in her course. But the treatment she received in college was equal to that of her male counterparts. She wasn’t given any special benefits because of her gender, and this helped her develop a strong mindset and a fierce determination to succeed.
After graduating, Sruthi joined her family business, Bestomech Industries, as a Production Engineer. She quickly rose through the ranks, taking on more responsibilities and eventually becoming the CEO of the company.
With her contribution, Bestomech Industries became the fastest-growing manufacturer of precision machined parts and transmission pulleys for a variety of industries, including general engineering, transmission, and agriculture.
Their product range includes castings, forgings, and aluminum precision machined components, as well as bar stock components. They specialize in developing components based on customer specifications and drawings, providing design solutions for enhanced product performance and improved quality.
Challenging the Status Quo: Sruthi’s Journey and the Struggles of Women in Manufacturing
The manufacturing industry has been one of the oldest and most established industries around the world. With time, the industry has grown and evolved to become more innovative and sophisticated. Women have been an integral part of this industry for years, yet they have been subjected to unequal treatment and unequal opportunities. However, Sruthi, a young woman in the manufacturing industry, is changing the status quo with her passion, determination, and resilience.
Sruthi is a young CEO who is still learning the ropes of the manufacturing industry. Despite being new to the industry, she has taken on multiple roles and departments, from production to customer handling to administration and HR. She is passionate about multi-tasking and overall development, and she is determined to learn everything she can about the industry.
One of the challenges Sruthi faces is, despite her passion and knowledge, some people underestimate her and look down on her because of her gender. However, Sruthi remains positive and takes every challenge as an opportunity to grow and learn. She believes that women should be respected in the shop floor and their knowledge and expertise should not be overlooked.

During the initial days of joining the business, Sruthi attended one Workshop related to the Latest Manufacturing Process’s & Techniques. In the workshop of fifty, there were only two women. Wonder is, during the whole session she strongly felt the negligence of organizers and speakers towards both of them as they did not think that this lady belongs to a strong & potential manufacturing firm, and they are present here just without any relevant purpose.
Sruthi’s experiences are not unique, as many other women in the manufacturing industry face similar challenges. For instance, some male colleagues are not ready to work under a woman boss, and the environment is not always supportive. Sruthi herself admitted that these challenges are being faced by her many female friends belonging to the manufacturing sector. However, despite these challenges, Sruthi and other women in the industry are breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Sruthi admitted that her journey in the manufacturing industry has been relatively smooth, as she comes from a family that is already established in the business. However, this is not the case for many aspiring women in the industry. Shruti expressed, “Women are still struggling to gain basic facilities and equal treatment, and this needs to change.” She firmly believes that an equitable environment is essential for a successful business, and she is working towards bringing about a revolution in women’s empowerment in the manufacturing sector in every other way.
The manufacturing industry needs to change its mindset and bring about a revolution in women’s empowerment. Women have a lot to offer in this industry, and their knowledge and expertise should be valued and respected. It is time to break the stereotype that manufacturing is a man’s world and embrace a more inclusive and diverse future. The industry needs to be open to change and embrace women’s empowerment, and Sruthi is one of the many women who are leading the way towards this change.
Shattering Stereotypes: Bestomech’s Mission to Empower Women in Manufacturing
Shruti believes that the time is changing, and women are breaking the glass ceiling. However, the participation of women in manufacturing is still a matter of concern, as it has not been at par with the participation of men. Sruthi, the CEO of Bestomech, a manufacturing company, has faced several challenges in recruiting women to the shop floor.
Sruthi is a firm believer in providing equal opportunities for women, but she was disappointed by the response she received. Women were hesitant to take up jobs in manufacturing, and they were not coming forward to explore the potential opportunities in this sector. Sruthi realized that there were certain misconceptions and barriers that needed to be addressed to encourage women to join the manufacturing sector.
To address this issue, Sruthi took a step-in coordination with colleges around her geographical areas. She organized awareness programs and industry visits for students at Bestomech, which helped the students to think and open their ways about manufacturing jobs. She believes that many companies can work together to retain talent in the manufacturing sector.

The government of India can also play a crucial role in promoting women’s participation in the manufacturing sector. A skill-based educational pattern that focuses on manufacturing skills can be introduced to engage students in the sector. This will not only increase the participation of women but also provide skilled talent for the industry.
Sruthi is making a difference by embracing equity at her workplace. Bestomech has a women workforce in every department, be it production, quality, accounts, or marketing. Sruthi has also provided flexible working hours for women, which has helped in improving work-life balance.
Women have enormous potential to contribute to the manufacturing sector, and it’s time to break the stereotypes and misconceptions about manufacturing jobs. It’s time to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce, where everyone has equal opportunities to excel. Sruthi’s efforts are a step in the right direction, and we need more companies and individuals like her to create a more equal and fair society.
Guided by Integrity: Behind Every Success Lies a Tale of Inspiration
As the saying goes, behind every successful person, there’s a story of perseverance and dedication. Sruthi’s journey to success is no exception. She owes her achievements to her parents, who have been her guiding lights throughout her life. Her father, Mr. Rajendran Narayanasamy, is a man of integrity, whose unwavering dedication to his work has transformed many lives. He has been a beacon of inspiration not only to Sruthi but to everyone around him.

Sruthi’s mother, a homemaker, has been her rock, always by her side, motivating her, and encouraging her to never look back. She instilled in her daughter the value of always looking forward and learning something new every day. Sruthi is a firm believer that there’s always more to achieve, and every day is an opportunity to learn something new.
Like every young person, Sruthi has made mistakes along the way, but she believes that learning from them is the key to success. She encourages young talents by stating that, “Nothing is wrong in going with the flow without being extra ordinary, what matters is putting your soul into whichever work field have chosen, your consistency and hard work will automatically make you extra ordinary one day.”
Sruthi’s story is a symbol of the power of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. She is a shining example of what can be achieved when one stays focused on one’s goals and never gives up. We can all take inspiration from Sruthi’s journey and strive to be the best version of ourselves every day. Remember, success is not an overnight phenomenon, but the result of constant effort and dedication. So, keep moving forward, keep learning, and keep growing. The sky is the limit!
