In an effort to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the male-dominated manufacturing industry, Great Diecasting Technology Forum (GDC Tech) will be organizing an event to recognize and honour women in the Aluminium Die Casting Industry. The event will take place on March 8, 2023, on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Arkey Conference Hall on Prabhat Road.
The manufacturing industry has long been considered a male-dominated sector, with women having limited participation, particularly in industries like die-casting. However, initiatives like GDC Tech are working to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the industry. In celebration of International Women’s Day, GDC Tech will be organizing an event which will highlight the achievements of five outstanding women from the industry and emphasise the need for greater participation of women in the manufacturing sector.
Sarika Mahashabde, Managing Director of APT Pneumatics Private Limited, will be graced as the Chief Guest of the event. Sarika Mahashabde is a renowned industry leader and has successfully been running a manufacturing enterprise based out of Pune. During the event, Anuradha Shinde, Rajshree Kale, Harshada Sarjerao Musale of UNO Minda, and Nikita Dasharath Kangutkar and Renuka Sahakar Shende of Victory Precisions will be honoured for their remarkable contributions to the industry.
The event is organized by R T Kulkarni, Convenor, and founder of Arkey Conference Cell, which organizes all the events of GDC Tech Forum. R T Kulkarni emphasized that women’s participation would make a big impact on the manufacturing industry, which is predominantly male-dominated. He added that the recognition of women’s contributions to the industry would encourage more women to join the sector.
Machine Maker, the leading media platform for manufacturing, supported the event. Hari Shanker, Managing Editor of Machine Maker, expressed that the event organized by GDC Tech Forum is inspiring and will help attract more skilled women to the industry, which is currently facing a shortage of skilled workforce. The December 2023 flagship exhibition of the GDC Tech Forum will be held at Chennai Trade Centre. The event is expected to further promote gender diversity and inclusion in the manufacturing industry.
