Engineering a Path to Success: Vaishali Nandedkar’s Inspiring Journey in Manufacturing

Vaishali Nandedkar is the co-founder and CHRO at Shivamtech Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd, a Pune-based company that specialises in providing engineering solutions to the manufacturing sector. She plays a pivotal role in the company as a CHRO, right from recruiting employees to giving them better facilities in the workplace. It is due to her efforts now that the company is engaged in employing more women. Despite not having a manufacturing background, Vaishali’s leadership skills and passion for empowering women have made her a valuable asset in the industry. Her journey serves as an inspiration to women who aspire to make a career in manufacturing. By breaking barriers and excelling in a male-dominated field, Vaishali has shown that anything is possible with determination and hard work.

Vaishali Nandedkar’s journey towards becoming a successful co-founder and CHRO at Shivamtech Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. was not an easy one. Right from the beginning, Vaishali was determined to become an independent woman, and she worked hard to excel in her academics. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune, India. After completing her education, Vaishali took a job in a software company, where she worked for 8 years. She also became a professor and the Head of the department at Pune University. Today, she is the director of the same company and plays a pivotal role as the CHRO, from recruiting employees to providing them with better facilities in the workplace.

Establishing Shivamtech

Shivamtech, a company founded by Sunil Nandedkar in 2001, started its journey with a vision to integrate software and information technology advancements with the manufacturing and mechanical sector. With just two employees, the company began its operations in Pune, focusing on making innovative engineering solutions. As Shivamtech started gaining customers and orders, the founders expanded the company by recruiting more mechanical engineers and engineering designers. Today, Shivamtech boasts a workforce of over 200 employees and has carved a niche for itself in the industry, all thanks to the tireless efforts of Sunil and Vaishali.

Their commitment to innovation, along with their knowledge of software and mechanical engineering, has enabled the company to create cutting-edge products that meet the needs of customers in a variety of industries. Shivamtech’s success can also be attributed to its focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The company’s team of skilled professionals work collaboratively to design, manufacture, and deliver products that exceed customer expectations.

As Vaishali rightly pointed out, the collaboration between individuals with different backgrounds and skill sets is essential to drive innovation and growth. At Shivamtech, this complementarity has played a crucial role in the company’s success. “As a person with an experience in the IT sector of about eight years, I know the complexities of the same. Sunil hails purely from a mechanical engineering background and this is how we can understand each other’s challenges”.

Towards more Diversified Industry

Vaishali’s belief in the potential of women in the manufacturing sector is both admirable and inspiring. Despite the traditionally male-dominated nature of the industry, she recognizes that women have unique talents and perspectives that can contribute greatly to the field. By encouraging women to find their niche while still in college, Vaishali is helping to pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive manufacturing workforce.

According to her, “Finding one’s niche can be a crucial step in achieving success in any field, and manufacturing is no exception. Whether it’s developing expertise in a specific type of machinery, mastering a particular manufacturing process, or becoming an expert in supply chain management, there are countless opportunities for women to carve out a space for themselves in the industry. By doing so, they can not only expand their own horizons but also help to break down the barriers that have historically prevented women from achieving their full potential in manufacturing”.

“It’s encouraging to hear that the manufacturing industry in India is becoming more women-friendly by providing facilities that cater to their needs. By offering tools and machinery that are easier for women to use, more women are being empowered to enter the industry and excel in their roles”, adds Vaishali.

Vaishali also believes that this is a positive step towards promoting gender diversity and equality in the workforce, as it allows women to take on jobs that were previously male-dominated. It also provides opportunities for women to pursue careers in fields that were traditionally considered outside of their purview, such as engineering and technology.

Vaishali Nandedkar’s journey serves as an inspiration for women who aspire to make a career in manufacturing. Her success as a co-founder and CHRO at Shivamtech Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. is a proof of the fact that determination and hard work can overcome any barriers. Vaishali’s belief in the potential of women in the manufacturing sector is admirable and inspiring, and her efforts to encourage more women to enter the field and provide them with better facilities are commendable. With the industry becoming more women-friendly, there is a greater opportunity for women to excel in manufacturing and pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated fields. As we continue to strive towards gender diversity and equality in the workforce, it is important to recognize the contributions of women like Vaishali who are breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse manufacturing industry.
