Worrying About Industrial Waste, Check These Waste Convertor Machines From Environ Recycling

India yearly generates more than 62 million tonnes of waste. The collection of this waste remains low at 60% and just 15% of the collected waste gets recycled. Everything else goes straight into landfills. We, as normal citizens, do not even bother sorting our garbage, but 3 engineers from Maharashtra decided to take this challenge. With their mantra 'waste should not go waste' they designed cutomized waste processing and segregating machines to increase the capacity of waste recycling. In this story read the journey of Environ Recycling which aims at making the world a greener and healthy place for the next generation.

Eureka

While talking about the idea of his start-up Aditya Deshpande said, “During our graduation, we kept reading the issues of waste disposal and dumping ground in India and it made us think about solving the problem through our expertise in design.” Aditya and 2 of his friends from DY Patil College of Engineering Atul Kavitake and Sachin Farakte then founded their start-up Environ Recycling. They started the business on their own in 2016 and now their company has more than 20 employees and almost 18 clients across India and neighboring countries like Nepal, Srilanka, and Bhutan. Aditya proudly mentioned that through their business they were able to generate the value of more than 1 Crore.

Customized Waste Convertor Machines

Talking about their products in organic waste range Aditya informed that they are available with automatic and semi-automatic functionalities. The semi-automatic machine has the lesser capacity to recycle but uses 25% of the electricity used by the automatic one. They provide baler, compactors, and shredder for e-waste and plastic waste, sewage treatment plants, and customized decentralized solutions for waste recycling.

Organic waste recycling machines by them have the capacity to recycle 5 kg to 5000 Kg of waste per day. Environ Recycling has manufactured these products in different capacities and sizes as per the need of the customer. They generate solid end products that can be used as manure in the agriculture sector and the liquid end product which can generate biogas. Aditya also mentioned that these manures are certified by a private laboratory from Pune.

While talking about the menace of e-waste Aditya said, “India is the 5th largest e-waste generator in the world and e-waste has about 30% of Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR).” He added that people know about issues of Plastic Pollution but they are are not equally aware of the hazards of e-waste and that is why Environ Recycling decided to provide solutions for e-waste and plastic waste. In the plastic and e-waste recycling solutions they provide separated metal and plastic which is sold to companies from Maharashtra and Gujrat. In the e-waste and plastic section different range of shredders for e-waste and plastic waste are available.

Limitations and Goals

Aditya said that they are a small set up and it becomes difficult to reach bigger industries like manufacturing companies, food and beverage processing, packaging industries.

We have the capacity to help bigger manufacturing entities to manage their waste thus nowadays we are working on getting connected with bigger players for tie-up or for providing waste recycling services.

Currently, they provide their products to big restaurants, schools, colleges, and other institutions. Talking about increasing their footprints in Europe and South-East Asia, he said that they are currently getting many queries from the region and they are working on expanding their business there.

Aditya handles the R&D department for their business and he said, “Environ Recycling manufactures products which work on electricity but through constant efforts and R&D, we will definitely come up with a product that will use solar energy in the future.” He didn’t forget to mention that they are also working on improving their e-waste and plastic waste generator to provide better end products for the businesses.

This environmentalist who is a fan of Sudha Murty for her commitment towards the betterment of people said that with their solution to recycle the organic waste they can curb the issue of pollution due to stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.
