Gate India Electronics is a privately-owned enterprise founded by engineers to create a profound impact using ingenious and flexible ed-tech tools. The Gate60’s startup primary objective is to overcome the wrong calculation obstacles that impede students’ performance in top-tier online and offline exams. The G20 Shikhar Summit illuminates’ startups’ untouched potential for financial progress and positive societal transformation. This summit creates an environment that nurtures innovation and becomes a beacon for emerging ventures. Gate India is committed to creating empowering calculative products for young students taking prestigious exams online and offline.

At the G20 Summit, Vijay Kumar Kalluri, the visionary founder & CEO of the company, highlighted the features of their product and their journey as a startup, “Gate60 is a scientific calculator specifically designed to address the challenges faced by aspiring engineers during the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination, one of India’s second most admired exams. The startup journey so far is quite ups and downs and we have learned so many things in the journey. It has been a remarkable success, with over 14,000 units sold, generating worth 1.5 crore worth of revenue.”

Despite owning strong conceptual knowledge, Vijay explained that students often need help with traditional calculators during the exam, leading to mistakes and reduced performance. Considering the absence of a suitable quick alternative systematic calculator in the market, the idea for Gate60 was born. After extensive development and manufacturing, Gate India Electronics successfully introduced the Gate60 calculator to the Indian market, which is exclusively tailored for Indian engineering students.

In adherence to the “Make in India” initiative, Vijay expressed his admiration for the program initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gate India Electronics has greatly profited from the support provided by Make in India, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and Startup India. Recently, they were granted 1 lakh rupees support by NITI Aayog, further reinforcing India as an idyllic starting point for startups.

Vijay pointed out, “At the G20 Summit, we are trying to scale up our ideas and came here to network with relevant organizations and institutions, allowing them to explore opportunities to scale up with our innovative ed-tech solutions. There are so many initiatives happening currently in India and India is being considered as the right place to start any startup in the entire world.” Looking to the future, Vijay focused on expanding their product line to cater to intermediate and high school students. The goal is to develop an affordable graphic calculator, addressing the lack of accessible educational tools with a focus on improving conceptual understanding.

As Gate India Electronics continues its voyage of innovation and expansion, it remains committed to empowering students and contributing to India’s dynamic startup ecosystem. With their untiring fortitude and provision from various government initiatives, the startup is poised to influence the educational sphere in India and beyond.
