With the market responding positively, and the global manufacturing transforming, VDMA India with their technical partners organized an international symposium on “Emerging Technology Trends in Manufacturing Processes” at Pune, which was well attended by industry delegates on 1st September 2021.
The international symposium on VDMA India with its technical partners kickstarted with lighting the lamp by Chief Guest Sameer Mathur, Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler India, who was joined by the representatives of event partners Unmesh Lohite of EAC, Abhijeet Godke of Contrinex Automation, Utkarsh Landekar of Messer Cutting Systems, Amol Khairnar of Destaco, Sachin Gambhire of TRUMPF India, Vishal Deore of Kjellberg, Kiran Gadekar, Vinit Sonawane, Vihar Badiwale of Tox Pressotechnik along with S Manohar of VDMA India.
“Market globally and locally is responding positively, and with the changing global manufacturing conditions and developments India is going to get benefitted”, said S Manohar, Regional Head, South of VDMA India in his welcome speech.
Rajesh Nath through the video message addressed the participants and said, “Manufacturing technologies are getting evolved, and it’s important that manufacturers get updated with the recent industry developments. Our partners in this international symposium on Emerging Technology Trends in Manufacturing Processes will be demonstrating some of the latest innovations which can help the growing manufacturing sector”. He informed that over the last 6 months the industry is showing positive growth in Germany as well as in India.
Sameer Mathur, Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler India, the Chief Guest of the Symposium appreciated the initiatives taken by VDMA in empowering Indian manufacturing through various virtual and physical events. Delivering his address, Mr Mathur said that upskilling our people and technology is important in the current moment. “Take the case of Electric Mobility or Hydrogen, even if these technologies will stay for long or not, we cannot neglect the way the market is changing. We need to be agile, work together with partners, and be future-ready!”

“Government is pushing emerging technologies in India. 5G rollout will make a big impact in the IIoT”, said Unmesh Lohite, Principal Consultant with Euro Asia Consulting. He was presenting the paper on “Emerging Market Opportunities in Indian Metal Fabrication Industry” in the first session. EAC is the Knowledge Partner for the symposium organized by VDMA. He informed that there is a clear trend in adopting new technology absorption by automotive, construction, railway and defence industries.
