The SheMaker Summit, after its successful first season, announced the second one to be held on March 4, 2021. The virtual summit is organized to boost the advancement of women in manufacturing. Season 1 of the digital summit hosted in January 2020, witnessed tremendous participation across the country from many professionals and corporate houses. The SheMaker Summit is organised by ThiinkEqual.

Talking about the summit Anjali Gulati, Co-founder, ThiinkEqual invited employers in manufacturing, supply chain, R&D & allied businesses to take the lead and inspire others to enable gender equality & inclusion by participating in The SheMaker Summit. “For corporates with an advanced inclusion framework, incumbent women leaders pay it forward by inspiring young women to build their careers. Season 2 of The SheMaker Summit will include a string of prominent women professionals who have excelled in the field of manufacturing and supply chain. The Summit keynote speaker, Sarala Menon, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing & Product Supply Chain, Colgate-Palmolive will share her perspectives on the future of the industry, leading and emerging trends that are shaping the future of manufacturing/ supply chain and allied functions, the impact of the pandemic on the sector and its impact on gender diversity.

The second session of The SheMaker Summit will talk about how thought-leading manufacturing companies have designed programs and practices to act speedily on gender diversity. This will be followed by SheMaker Awards, a segment that identifies and rewards women professionals and companies who are enabling the drive towards more women in the sector. The SheMaker Awards are powered by Aditya Birla Group and Global Manufacturing Leadership Program.
The SheMaker Awards keynote will be addressed by Vaishali Surawar, Chief Sustainability Officer of Hindalco Industries Limited. The award and jury presenters will include Shailley Garg, Grasim Industries Limited, Alka Upadhyay, AVP Tata Sustainability Group, Sharmishtha Biswas, Johnson & Johnson and Sharmishtha Niyogi, Rockwell Automation.
The award session will be followed by a panel discussion titled Care for the Mix; Mix with Care where the conversation will be about the need to consciously reimagine the manufacturing workplace to make it equitable for women to join, enable and advance their careers. The panellists are Ritu Chandra, Global Offering Development Lead-Industry X Smart Connected Product Design and Development, Accenture, along with Alka Upadhyay AVP, Tata Sustainability Group, and Suhela Khan, Country Programme Manager- WeEmpowerAsia, UN Women.
The summit will conclude with Red Carpet – The SheMakers where women leaders and women from the shopfloor will share their inspiring stories on how they shaped a career in the manufacturing/ supply chain. The session will be graced by Shilpa Vora, Head R&D- Global Lifeboy & Skin Cleansing South Asia, Unilever, Beena Kothari, Director of Manufacturing, General Motors, and Pallavi Wad, Head product supply organization, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (India & SAARC).
